Re: National (U.S.) Sleep Clinic Recommendations

Kteague,
I watched your video, and while the nurse in me is horrified at what your body goes through at night, the silly part of me LOVES your sense of humor with the music choice!
Thanks for being willing to share in a way that can help so many who are suffering!

Re: Mouth Breathing and Snot??

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. I have adjusted the humidifier, and have an appointment to also get another mask. I got my Swift FX for Her 15 mos ago, and it is not holding it's tabs well over my head. I think the rubber is stretched enough that I just has to go. Hopefully, I'll find a nasal ...

Re: Mouth Breathing and Snot??

You are right, ChunkyFrog...it's a Remstar Plus. See...I am so blase' about things now, I don't even know my machine! (lol) I was very disappointed when the MD said this was the machine he preferred, since I researched and saw that I couldn't get any useful data from it. I have only had it since las...

Mouth Breathing and Snot??

Hello, again, everyone. I've been off the board for AGES, as I have been doing so well. I know I need to log on and be of some help for others, but started a new job and am rarely able to log onto the computer for fun! I have a really nasty question, and have been reading previous posts, all that I ...

Re: Especially for newly diagnosed - Dealing with Change

Thanks, idamtnboy, for your Coping with Change article! As a psychiatric nurse, I am so very familiar with Kubler- Ross, but love how you applied these concepts to Sleep Apnea. I was diagnosed with OSA in 2005, and was briefly an active member of this message board. Then, after losing quite a bit of...

Thanks. Maybe that is what is happening. I am pretty much on my back most of the night, but I could be on my side, with the pillow deflecting when I wake up, and just naturally flip on my back before I am fully awake. Will investigate further tonight!

Aura question

Hi, all you other Aura users! I have a really stupid question, but am stumped. Several times during the night, when I'm wearing my Aura , I wake up feeling a very gentle breeze over my top lip. I feel for leaks, and there is nothing around the pillows at all. I have felt down along the soft tube tha...

I am a Registered Nurse who does Diabetes Education by telephone with Federal Employees around the country. I have only had the OSA diagnosis for about 2 months, but it's AMAZING what a little focused education will do! I've already instructed SEVERAL of my regular patients to request sleep studies,...

My vote on the Aura

Hi, All! Wanted to check in quickly with my vote for (definitely FOR!) the Aura ! I have had trouble finding a nasal mask to work, as apparently my nose is the only part of me that is particularly small! Even the latest size Small mask is too large, and is smushing my top lip and hitting the inside ...

Like a few others on the board, I am a big proponent of putting some salt in warm water and snorting it up your nose and into your sinuses at least daily. I even notice when I am coming down with a cold, if I do it 2-3 times a day, I will stop the cold in it's tracks. I also saw an allergist, with t...

I haven't felt the "brain flipping" thing, but for years, at times I can close my eyes and feel like my body is rocking, even if I am lying or sitting completely still. It's a very odd thing. No explanation, just a little "sympathy" for what you are feeling!

Gosh...even beyond the Bell Bottoms, does anyone remember those dumb jeans that had 2 zippers, one up each side, right over the legs, instead of just the one in the middle? I can't believe I used to love those things. (That was, until I was an adult and somebody told me they used to call them "drive...

Rockslide- It probably didn't help that that drive from Cincinnati to Columbus is the MOST BORING STRETCH OF HIGHWAY EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI! Being from Tennessee, when my husband takes me home to Marion, just north of Columbus, I keep looking down the rows of electric towers, where I can see them f...

One more thing... If you beg for an AutoPAP, and can't get it, don't panic. I was so sure they were going to let me get my Auto right off, and then RT brought me a Respironics Plus with C-flex and Heated Humidifier . I was disappointed, but anxious to get started. I have been sleeping like a DREAM (...
