Thanks for responses
Rested Gal, You always have such good and sensible advice. Thanks for your response and I will push my new doctor to get me on an autopap with the software so I can monitor my own sleep results. I had my third sleep study back in October and the doctor can't see me until the end of Feb. I've been tr...

O, Thanks for the reply. As for the first two doctors: I changed insurance companies making it necessary to change doctors as the first one didn't work with my new insurance company. My primary care physician gave me a recommendation for a doctor with the new insurance company. After about 3 visits ...

What Type of Apnea Do I have?
I've been using a cpap for about 20 months now with about 50% success rate. By that I mean that the CPAP definetley helps but I'm not waking as refreshed as I should be and I know that I still have episodes of apnea throughout the night. I've learned a lot over the past few months by following this ...

Help With REMstar Plus Settings
Last night I went into the setup menu on my REMstar Plus machine to change my pressure setting as I've successfully done before. The next morning, I noticed that my total hours displayed was showing 7.2 only showing for the last night's sleep. It looks like I accidentally reset my total hours. It wa...

Thanks Snork1 for helping me to understand what the reader does and how it works. I agree that is what a technician like myself could make good use of. Its hard to troubleshoot a problem without the data to back up the problem and this will give me the data that I need. Thanks Photogal for sending o...

Wow, thanks for the great advice and support. I've said before on this forum and I will say it again. It makes all the difference just to have a group of people that know and understand my concerns. If nothing else than to hear my complaints and lend a sympathetic and listening ear. DCTom and photog...

Will I Ever Get a Restful Night?
As I sit her typing this and recovering from my nasal surgery I had last week I can't help but wonder if I will ever sleep well again. I am completely envious of the stories I read here where people get their cpaps and are getting a good night's sleep right from the start or with a little tweaking. ...

I've had signs of sleep apnea for probably almost 40 years. It wasn't until I was diagnosed about a year ago that I understood those signs. I remember sharing a bedroom with my brother when I was younger and he would complain about how much noise I made when I slept. About 25 years ago, I went to se...

I too have a leaking problem with my Ultra Mirage FF mask. I started out with a mask over the nose and soon realized that because I am a mouth breather that wasn't going to work so I switched to the FF mask. Then as mentioned here, I began to have more problems with leaking than before. I think I ma...

Thanks for the reviews/advice on the nasal surgery. I'm not looking forward to it but am looking forward to the results and hope that I too will be able to breathe better at night. Hockeyday, I had really never hoped that it would allow me to sleep without my cpap . I would consider that a miracle! ...

Nasal Surgery and Other Fun Stuff
I introduced myself in this forum this morning as the new guy. I had a couple of friendly replies and encouragement to share my OSA experiences and story. So you asked for it! I've had symptoms of sleep apnea as long as I can remember. Sharing a room with my brother as a kid, he would complain about...

The New Guy
Hi everybody. I just stumbled across this forum as few minutes ago and decided to jump right in! I'm an Electronic Technician repairing the equipment that makes the brains to your computers (unless you use a MAC or one of the none "Inside" computers). That may not make sense to some people. Anyway, ...
