Thanks to those who responded. I got the best news possible when we returned for another appointment! Her test results that since losing weight she has no sleep apnea when lying on her side. So...she's off the CPAP and sleeps with tennis balls sewn onto the back of a t-shirt so she doesn't sleep on ...

A REM behavior disturbance has jujst been tentatively diagnosed. It may be that this is the time when she takes her mask off. We've come back to the full face mask after many trials of others. She's 33. I'm also wondering about one of those machines with an alarm that goes off when the mask does. Th...

Keeping CPAP mask on
I think this is the only place in the world I would have been able to find so much information on my problem. The internet and this forum are a godsend.

Keeping CPAP mask on--reply to Janelle
Sorry I forgot to reply to your questions. Her mask is now a full face mask, which works better than the little nose mask. Many attachment caps have been tried, and a chin strap. Part of the attachment cap she's using now sticks up in the air--I think it's for a head with more top to it. Mine does, ...

Keeping CPAP mask on--Please advise
My daughter is an adult with Downs Syndrome who has severe chronic sleep apnea and wears a CPAP mask for this. Either she takes it off while sleeping or it slips off. She may have untreated PRLM also. Due to some changes in funding, her quality of life will be significantly lessened unless we can di...
