cpapernewbie,
Thanks, for the information. We're taking the "California Zephyr." I'm assuming that's what you're referring to when you mention the California train. Glad to hear it has outlets at each seat. I'll be miserable if I have to sleep without CPAP. Thanks so much! stormin normin

traveling by train need advice
I'm going to Colorado from Indiana on amtrak train. Does anyone know how easy or hard it will be to find a plug in? Am I setting self up for a "bad night." I purchased a Puritan Bennett Goodnight 420sp for a backup and travel machine. We'll be traveling all night coach fare. I can't go one night wit...

222 second apnea
I got the 222 seconds from MyEncore. I just crosschecked it with Encore Pro and it said the average length of apnea that night (7th of April) was 4 minutes. The thing is that both it and MyEncore say I only had one apnea that night. I was stumped cause usually I have 2 or 3 apneas about anywhere fro...

long apnea episode 222 seconds
I've been doing very well in my treatment for about 5 months now on my resperon auto at 11 - 15 pressure. A few nights ago my machine card registered an apnea episode lasting 222 seconds. A couple months ago, I had one that lasted about 80 some seconds. Is this normal?? It's alarming to think I didn...

Becka, Personally, based on my limited knowledge, I do believe apnea starts for a lot of people either since birth or way prior to when they are diagnosed. As we get older (for those of us who are "older") I believe we are less able to withstand the symptoms of sleep apnea and doctors are more willi...

Chris, I tried the comfortlite II during my titration study. It has 2 fittings, a nasal prong/pillow that fits just barely inside your nostril and the other fitting was a more standard small nose mask cover (not sure what its called as I'm new at this too). The comforlite II prong caused a very unco...

Jenny, thanks, you understand then the sleep complexities and chronic fatigue and pain endured by fibro sufferers. I stayed awake till 3am from the trazadone. Also, I found out it can or does reduce REM sleep as shown through numerous research studies. I may go to a fibro support forum to talk and a...

I also have fibromyaligia, thus chronic pain & sleep disorders par for the course. Flexeril seems to wor...

Jenny, I'd definitely recommend trying a full face mask if a nasal at 6 months is not working. The advantage of a full face over a nasal is you don't have to worry about mouth breathing. It's a non-issue. However, you have to get used to the mask covering both mouth and nose. I use the fisher paykel...

Elle, Keep looking up information on this site regarding masks. There are lots of posts regarding how to deal with mask leaks. Bunches of them. So, keep working with that mask till you get it right. Personally, I've wore mask at various times of the day while watching TV etc with the cpap pressure a...
