Sleepy-eyes,
With persistence things will get better.
One thing you might want to try for the noise is earplugs. They take some getting used to as well, but now I can't sleep witout them.

Greg, Welcome to the forum! I'm a relative new guy here too and there is a ton of good info here. I've been on CPAP for almost two weeks now and it's been a slow and gradual improvement. I feel just a little better than I did before, but my girlfriend says that I don't startle myself gasping for air...

re: Enough Pressure
I've done this in the past where I've literally cut a pill in half and I felt ok the next day. However, the sleep doc told me that sleeping pills are a no-no for people with OSA because the medication relaxes the neck muscles, making the OSA that much worse. But I'm wondering that since I'm now on C...

Enough Pressure?
I've been through my 2nd night on CPAP and while I do feel a little more alert and refreshed, it's nothing compared to the day after I had my 2nd sleep study where I slept using CPAP (I use a Mirage Swift nasal pillow and a ResMed S8 Elite CPAP). Two things I'm wondering about though: 1) Is the CPAP...

Re: Brand new to this forum
Welcome to the board, sharktone! I'm a newbie here too, although it sounds like you're further along than I am. I'm still awaiting a response to my second sleep study, and then hopefully an order can be placed for my own CPAP. It's great to hear that you're doing well so far though, and i hope it co...

Re: Hosehead-to-be
Welcome to the forum!
I'm a newbie here too and like you, I'm just about to begin treatment as well.
To me the keys to success are learning as much as possible about sleep apnea and CPAP, keeping an open mind about treatment options, and having and optimistic attitude that things will get better.

Re: Newbie with Questions
<snip> I've been at my current job now for about eight months and I feel like my relationship with my boss is deteriorating due to some of the mistakes I've made. Not only do i hope that I'll feel more alert at work but I also hope that my job performance will improve. Any thoughts? This has happen...

Re: Newbie with Questions
Thanks for the quick replies. I can't wait to get my own CPAP. I feel like a zombie all day and I'm ready to feel like a human being again, and looking back I think i've dealt with some type of sleeping disorder my whole life. Not only do I feel lousy during the day, I feel like my sleepiness is aff...

Newbie with Questions
Hi, I'm new to this forum and I like this forum very much already. I've been through two sleep studies (one intial sudy and one with CPAP) and I'm still waiting the call from the sleep doctor for me to come in and discuss the results of the second test, and hopefully to place an order for my own CPA...
