Re: Spring 2022: How long is it taking a DME to get/fit a CPAP for new user?

I don't know why the VA gets a bad rap. But the Boston VA is great. I had been under the misimpression the APAP was under lease from the VA like all commercial ones. Before I got VA benefits I had to work hard to be able to buy my ResMed rather than a pricey lease which my Blue Cross Blue Shield see...

Re: Spring 2022: How long is it taking a DME to get/fit a CPAP for new user?

My noise was occasional too, and not THAT loud. I thought maybe it just needed some lubrication, but was concerned it might get worse/ louder. I recorded it on my smartphone so I could play it back in case it didn't make the noise when I brought it in, but the VA tech did not even try to listen to m...

Spring 2022: How long is it taking a DME to get/fit a CPAP for new user?

Because of the Phillips recall and supply chain issues, is there a long delay in getting a CPAP? (Hopefully a ResMed) How long is it taking a DME to get a good CPAP for a newly diagnosed CPAP user on Medicare, MedEx, and a PDP? Initially the DME did not contact the patient. After no contact for a fe...

Re: Chin strap with FFM - recommendations

I got the Hans Rudolph 7600 Series V2 Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear because it is dishwasher safe, but it does come with a chin cup as part of the FFM. I used to not use a chin strap but then developed a habit of mouth breathing, so I started using one. But I no longer feel the need to do so as ...

Re: What are CPAP results or symptoms indicating oxymeter need

My last sleep with titration study was years and arguably pounds ago (2012). It said: "The baseline waking oxymetry was 95-96%, asleep with CPAP it remained low on 94-95% at lower CPAP and BiPap pressures, but did improve with higher CPAP pressures ranging from 96-97%. Overall oxygen saturation nadi...

What are CPAP results or symptoms indicating oxymeter need

What are the CPAP results or health symptoms indicating the that I should add an oxymeter?

If I need one what are good ones?

I would prefer one that does not require a finger sensor, such as the Bodimetrics O2 vibe or the CONTEC CMS50IW

Can Sleepyhead consolidate meld info from 2 CPAPs?

I have an S9 and an AirSense 10. I kept ope at my winter home and one at my summer one so I do not have to transport one back and forth each week. I spend long weekends at one and a shortt week in the other. myAir says I cannot upload SD card data from the S9 to their online wireless database. As fo...

How do I access the clinician mode on and Airsense 10.
Pretty much the same way but the initial menus are called something different.
See the manual here

Re: Trouble with Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset

I just got my ResMed Airsense 10 autoset yesterday and the technician did not turn on auto on/off as i did not think to ask for this. I found out it was no set during my usual middle of the night nature call. Apparently to turn this on or off you have to do it in the clinician menu. I know how to ac...

Re: What (A)CPAPs does VA currently furnish?

Thanks for your service....Sounds like the VA is very generous with taxpayer money You're welcome. I do feel very funny about the taxpayer's largess* as there may be many vets who need medical equipment and services who couldn't otherwise afford it but that may not be getting it. The VA in other pl...

Re: What (A)CPAPs does VA currently furnish?

I got my new APAP from the Boston VA today. They had a bunch of machines sitting on top of a cabinet and one was a S10 Airsense autoset. I asked if I could get that one and they said sure. I didn't pay attention to what other ones they had. I did ask if they had a "for her" model, but they did not a...

Re: What (A)CPAPs does VA currently furnish?

I am waiting to hear from the VA. I update this to indicate what's available from the Boston VA when I hear. If one is going to clean their equipment :-) , arguably the most important and toughest to clean is the mask because of all the nooks and crannies. The Hans Rudolph 7600 Series V2 Full Face M...

Re: What (A)CPAPs does VA currently furnish?

Thanks for the info. I see in another thread that both the ResMed and the Respironics are available from the VA. Originally I had Respironics machines (Pro C-Flex) supplied by a DME who's main interest was high profit. I convinced my doc to prescribe an APAP and sought out a DEM to buy ResMed S9 as ...

What (A)CPAPs does VA currently furnish?

What APAPs or CPAPs does VA currently furnish? If my 6 year old commercial sleep study specifies an auto CPAP is that what they will furnish, or do they do a new test and try to furnish a brick? Specifically will they furnish a ResMed AirSense 10 with HumidAir? I am male. Will they provide the "for ...
