Unable to send private messages
I am unable to send private messages, as they remain in the outbox. I have tried sending 2 messages to the administrators to correct this, but these also remain in the outbox. I was able to send a PM successfully back in 2019. Am I doing something wrong now? Please help me. Thank you.

AEIOMED Headrest
I started on CPAP in 2006 with a Resmed S8 Autoset Vantage, and an now using the Resmed Aircurve S10 ASV. I tried many different masks but none could compare with the Headrest. Fortunately, I stocked up and have more than a lifetime supply. I find the head gear and nasal pillows last almost forever....

Re: Issues Downloading Reslink SmartMedia card with Autoscan 5
jdm2857 was on the mark: I installed Rescan 3.7 and the SmartMedia card was successfully downloaded.
I don't understand why this would not work with AutoScan 5.7. Resmed people said it should work with AutoScan.
Thanks for your helpful posts

Issues Downloading Reslink SmartMedia card with Autoscan 5
I recently purchased a Reslink II unit (PN 22206) for my S8 Auto Vantage (not II). It came with a SmartMedia card reader (CR-V7-US). My Windows XP (Home) SP3 computer sees the card in My Computer as Removable Disk (E), and lists the various folders and files. When I open AutoScan 5.7, a box shows th...

I can add one excellent DME to this list: Ron Evans, RRT is the owner of Valley Respiratory Services. He has offices in East Phoenix (480 830 7700) and West Phoenix (623 930 1225). I have been with him almost two years and have been very happy with his services. He is very knowledgeable and helpful....

Re: Recent experiences of inflight CPAP use
Prior to travel abroad, I wrote an airline asking whether the TSA regulations exempting the CPAP machine from the 2-bag limit would be respected on my return flight. They responded with a letter requiring me to get a letter from my physician stating that it was safe for me to fly! I dropped the enti...

Fragmented Sleeps Leads to Pain Sensitivity
In an article in today's New York Times entitled "The Elderly Always Sleep Worse, and Other Myths of Aging" (link requires free registration) http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/23/health/23age.html?em&ex=1193284800&en=72b10b564c5c4dc0&ei=5087%0A one of the major conclusions, which applied to both young ...

Dear Rested Gal, As always, your analysis is very astute. I agree with you that a major factor here is the lower leak rate at lower pressures. In answer to your questions: 1.In my sleep study the time was divided about two thirds on my side, one third on my back. 2.At home I try to sleep on my side,...

My Auto-titration experiment-a surprising result
I have been using APAP for about 18 months (Resmed S8 Auto Vantage, Aura-Headrest nasal pillows). My initial sleep study showed AHI=39 and a recommended titration pressure of 11 cm. My APAP consistently showed a pressure of 12 cm. The results were acceptable, but not great: leakage of 0.3-0.5 l/s (1...

One important additional point: if you are a MAC user, and do not have the new dual core MACs which can also run the Windows operating system, then (to the best of my knowledge) neither the Resmed or Remstar software packages will work. In that case, the visual data readily available on the Resmed (...

Rested Gal, JimW, and Wulfman thank you very much for your replies. I am using the Resmed 8 in the autopap mode, not as a straight CPAP. The pressures, as read daily on the LCD, are all in a very narrow range: 11.0 to 11.6. After trying the straight CPAP for a few nights, I did not feel the the EPR ...

The Opus mask is very similar to the Infinity 481. Anyone who has a 481 can easily make an Opus knockoff with this simple modification: Secure the tube under a loop formed by one of the two velcro straps on the top band. Also decenter the buckle holding the two straps so that the tube is secured dea...
