Based on the recommendations I found here I "snorkled" the Swift's mask tube and duct-taped a hair scrunchie above my head on the headboard, I route the hose from the machine through that. Works great. The scrunchie provides enough stretch so that I can roll over onto either side without the hose tu...

I've struggled with the Swift also, but after a month I think I've got most of my issues with it ironed out. They recommended the medium pillows for me, but I found the large size worked MUCH better. They sat comfortably on the outside of my nose instead of feeling like they were trying to wiggle in...

When I asked about getting the software (AutoScan for my ResMed S8 Vantage) so I could monitor my progress myself, the technician at my sleep doctors freaked a little. She freaked a little more when I explained I'd already discovered how to get into "clinician mode" to check my AHI in the morning. I...

Been on APAP 4 weeks now, I always wake up somewhere between 3:30 and 4:30, always about 6 hours after I go to bed. Before the APAP if I woke up around then I'd just roll over and be asleep again in no time, but now I'm wide awake after it happens. Sometimes I can get back to sleep after an hour or ...

ACS has a bunch of juicy PDFs posted with their drivers, including an API reference and technical specs on the readers. Have you ever worked with smartcards? I was thinking a USB sniffer might give some clues about what's getting written to the cards. I'll look into ACS's site, thanks. I've never w...

Can I ask all you victims of rainout a question? How cold does your bedroom have to be before it happens to you? I haven't had it happen yet in two weeks (knock wood) with my H3i set to 4 out of 6 and the thermostat set for 66 at night. I'm thinking either I'm on a run of luck due to play out, or y'...

I've been on my APAP machine two weeks now and I've noticed my concentration has improved and my short-term memory has gotten better - before I'd grab my palm pilot to make a note to myself, and sometimes when I got it fired up I couldn't remember what I was going to write down! The machine takes so...

I'd say so, the lethargic activity of choice depends on the letharg-ee.SelfSeeker wrote:I agree with kroussea,
No one can make another person compliant. Just like no one can make a smoker stop smoking. You get the point.
JP - I love your post.

I'm the husband with the APAP machine and I have no problem being compliant, so I'm not sure how good my advice might be. But you could try motivating him with what motivates me. "Are you tired of feeling tired all the time, of not having enough energy left at the end of the day to do more than plop...

I took a low-cost approach to the weekly cleaning container. I had intended to go out and spend a few bucks on a tupperware container for mask bits and hose and humidifier tank to rest in, but the night before my kids had polished off the rest of a 1.25 gallon round plastic tub of Deans vanilla ice ...

The idea is to have a short mask hose going into both sides of the swift's pillow frame? A "Y" connector is what first occurs to me (as it already has to others) or a "T" if there's no such thing as a "Y" available. It might be possible to manufacture a "Y" out of something like CPAP hose quick conn...

I am looking into the possibility of developing an 'open source' program capable of reading the data from Resmed machines (& possibly Respironics ones later) and presenting the data in a variety of ways that we users want (& not what DMEs neccesarily want). To do this would need a few (about 2-3 ) ...
