bookwrm63: Those were replacement rubber / silicone feet from an older Sony external CD-Burner... the nice thing is that they are soft and easy to cut and have a good shape to start out with. Unfortunately I don't think they are sold anymore. Here's a picture of the drive: http://www.amazon.com/Sony...

I've been on several trips since I started and took it always carry on. My machine is quite big, but I found a sturdy suitcase that meets carry on size requirements and the machine and all accessories fit just in (but there is not much room for anything else). Most Airport screeners know what this i...

Hot weather / Air conditioner ?

I live in northern California, where it is usually cool at night, but I remember last years heat spell that was extremely uncomfortable for about 3 weeks. I'm on BiPAP since November and don't want to miss a night without it anymore, but I'm anxious about those really hot days, even if it's only a f...

I had a similar problem with the 431 in the beginning. No matter how much I tried to tighten the straps, air would leak into my eyes... finally I found a solution: When I pushed with my finger lightly on the outside of the silicone piece, the leaks stopped, so I figured I could try some minor mod to...

Thanks alot guys... I've been 100 % compliant the last 3 nights and I definitely see improvement. Today is the first day that I don't feel overly anxious and I did a sleep journal and I can say that my total sleep time increased from about 5 hours to almost 7 and my mind seems to be very clear now. ...

Hey, I've been in treatment a whole month, that qualifies me to give advice, right? But that said, there are a couple things that can happen right off, and one of them is REM rebound, where your body tries to make up for all the REM sleep you weren't getting before. This can lead to some wild night...

Thanks to all... I guess I have to try harder... My Family doc prescribed some Xanax to deal with the immediate anxiety symptoms, but somehow my regular pharmacy didn't get the prescription yesterday, so I try to get in touch with them again today... should I try some St Johns Wort in the meantime?

Did anyone else deal with high anxiety in the beginning?

I still keep waking up every couple of hours with high anxiety and need some encouragement. I feel not tired this morning (at least not at the moment) but generally very nervous and anxious. I think I got about 5 to 6 hours of sleep (had dreams) last night, but with many wakeups in between. I'm on t...

It would be nice for your piece of mind , to get the software and card reader, costs less than a trip to the ER. Also breathing into a small paper bag, will increase the CO2, and help the calm return. The more you know about your treatment the more comfortable you will be with it. I take it the ER ...

I actually got another couple of hours sleep with the machine after the ER episode and it was somewhat better (reassurance works wonder sometimes). Still feel a bit edgy... My prescription as far as I know is 13 IPAP and 10 EPAP max and when I looked last night, the machine was at 15 IPAP and 12 EPA...

Very uncool panik attack... :(

I kept waking up last night and the machine was blowing hard again. Then I got nervous and anxiety started... a couple of minutes later I was a quivering mass of panic and actually called 911 - trip to the ER, but as usual nothing is seriously wrong with me except my mind... I had a couple of anxiet...

I have to say... last night was great (without the machine), almost slept through for 8 hours straight, had deep dreams, feel rested today... I don't know what's going on... maybe this is all in my head

Ok... I talked to the doc and he said I should probably sleep without it until monday and make an appointment... he thinks since I slept for so long without the machine since my original diagnosis I probably don't make things worse by skipping a couple of nights. I may need a revised treatment...

I absolutely agree that the poor sleep performance could be the result of anxiety, but what if it's the other way around (darn catch 22 for us anxiety patients). I have developed pretty good coping skills for my anxiety episodes (had them for years) by now and I sure could shrug it off and continue....
