Cleaning EncorePro Smartcard
This morning EncorePro could not read my Smartcard. After several removal/re-insertions of the card there was no joy. Previously I had cleaned the gold contacts on the card with an art gum eraser, but several days ago I had purchased some electronic contact cleaner for my growing collection of LED f...

but missed one step... push heater on button Last night I hit upon a partial solution to the above problem. When I turned my REMstar OFF, I immediately turned the heated humidifier back ON. This puts the humidifier in preheat mode for 20 minutes. But, if your potty break lasts more than 20 minutes ...

Plus that TINY green light that can't be seen very easily if you place the machine down low is a REAL joke. I considered a system of mirrors so I can see the light to see if I actually remembered to turn it on when I go to sleep or during the night. Please see my post http://cpaptalk.com/viewtopic....

Most nights my Encore software shows that the average leak is 35 - 38 cm H2O, but on occasion has gone as high as 43 cm H2O. The above should read: "Most nights my Encore software shows that the average leak is 35 - 38 liters per minute, but on occasion has gone as high as 43 liters per minute." So...

what you you feel is a acceptable leak average over the course of a night? The literature that came with your mask should have a chart showing the leak pressure through the exhaust vents. This varies depending upon the pressure setting of the xPAP. In my case, the chart shows that my ResMed Active ...

Wow. I'm impressed! Looks like we've found the Heloise of the cpaptalk forum! Thank you very much Linda, but Heloise? I don't think so. Heloise was a woman - the mistress and wife of Abelard (circa 1098-1164). I have a very deep voice (used to sing bass in the church choir) and a very shaggy beard....

Heated Humidifier - On or Off?
Problem: With the REMstar Auto (and perhaps other models of xPAP), one cannot easily see green LED lamp that indicates whether or not the heated humidifier is on or off. In my case, the machine is about 5 inches off the floor right next to my bed. When in bed and looking down at the top of the machi...
