Comment on Fisher Paykell HC405
!. HC405 -- I know that face masks are awfully personal and there is no one answer for everybody but I like the FP HC405. I got on to the 405 quite by happenstance and think it is a solution well worth considering. A little over a year ago, I started having serious skin rash problems with a Respiron...

Power Outage
Charlie, Well it's a long time since you made your post but it came up when I did a search. Seems like you are technical and I hope you can deal with some uninformed questions. I live in Seattle and had a 3 day power outage which was inconvenient to say the least since I am addicted to my auto cpap....

Lame Lazy Question
I imagine that the answer to my my questions are in the archives somewhere but I am giving up trying to find them. I recently got a ResMed Autoset S8 after 3 years on a Respironics CPAP. I know some people are sceptical of the worth of APAP but I have found quite an improvement in the way I feel whi...

Distilled Wate
I agree with everyone else here re:You should be able to find distilled water in Irael. But, soometimes depending on the culture, it is not consdered "water" per se and therefore not sold alonside bottled water isn the groceries stores. I have found it in some different places overseas e.g. in hardw...

Re: ResMed -v- Respironics
[ u]I believe that auto-titration is very useful in the near-term. But, after one determines their own ideal pressure,[/u] I definitely believe after my own experiences that CPAP provides a smoother, more restful night's sleep than does the varying pressures of APAP machines which I believe we all e...

Poligrip
Kind of goofy sounding but I have also used Poligrip as an alternative to taping. Pluses -- it seems gentler than taping. The seal seems to be more complete but weaker than tape The seal is easily broken if you need to cough, etc. then it tends to reseal just by closing your lips. Depending on the a...

Travel and CPAP
I have traveled all over the world with my machine. All you need is 120/240v outlet in the room and an adapter for the local plug if you are outside the US. I also travel with an long extension cord in case the outlets are not conviently placed. You also need to carry your cleaning equipment. Other ...
