Been nearly a year

With nearly 100% compliance (did not have power in Turkey one night), I can report that my APAP machine and I are the best of friends (it is a 420e). My wife likes it too, because now she gets a good sleep without my snoring. The only problem is that I may have messed up the power connector by putti...

I AM DREAMING!!!

Okay, it's been about two months. I've been feeling peppy since day one and adapted well to my 420e + swift setup But now I am having long and detailed dreams. Really long. Actually, somewhat boring. One was about running a marathon. (Yeah right, like I am going to do that!) Anyway, it seemed like ...

I am using a USB-Serial adapter without any trouble. That's on a real PC. I would hope that virtual PC does just as good.

Good luck

I am still loving my swift!

Mouth is kept closed with a headband or jamming a pillow up under my chin.

Good luck!

Well, I am extremely hapy with the thing, and do not know what drives me to fiddle. but fiddle i shall.

I suspect that breathe regularly/settling time thing is what inhibits the initial response.

More experimentation to come.

The Official CPAP Song

this has been a very helpful forum. I note, however, the lack of an official song. May I Offer the following? To the tune of "Blowin' in the Wind" How many nights must one man snore Before he you call him a doc? How many times must you wake in the night And see small numbers on your clock? Yes 'n Ho...

Shouldn't the APAP blow if I hold my breath?

Just thinking here.

If I hold my breath, which I would think to be simulating an apnea, shouldn't the 420e kick up the pressure? You know, so I breathe?

Hmmm.

Although tapwater is okay (per my 420E manual), it's a little smelly here.

Switched to distilled and am happy!

Does it go away if you try a decongestant? Maybe you are pressurizing your ears at night and not releasing in the am.

Have you tried that airplaine taking off yawning thing?

Totally guessing here, maybe you should see a doc asap

I love my swift.

I found that I can loosen the straps to the point of almost no tightness at all and still have the thing work.

Rotating the nosie-thing helps, as does changing the nosie size (I went from large to med)

Now, how do I keep my mouth shut? Actually making progress there

I asked my Stanford sleep doc about that.

He said "If it worked, don't you think we'd be telling you to do it?"

A New Use for APAP

Being a sailor-boy, I believe that everything should have multiple uses. When dear wife showed up with a new item of exercise equipment (http://www.beandirect.com) it did not take me too long to read the warning "do not inflate with a compressor" and then yes, i used my goodknight 420E , used my han...
