Long-term, steady use of any single interface is likely to cause bone/cartilage/soft tissue impacts wherever the pressure points are. I think that RestedGal and the others who have a rotation of comfortable interfaces (I'm still trying to get to optimal pressure with a single interface!) have the ri...

According to my dentist, it's a function of particularly porous bone around the mouth and nose and cheeks, and concentrated, long-period point-focused pressure with not very much soft tissue in the way. In the case of my butt, at least, the bones are very well-protected with soft tissue (tho all mus...

My dentist is very good but knows relatively little about OSA, so he is eager to learn about these interfaces and so forth. While I have great respect for him, this is another case, like with medical docs, where the patients have to educate the docs as much as or more than they educate us. His knowl...

Maybe some of our Activa vets, like RestedGal, could comment on their experience with pressure/soreness with respect to the bone mass above the teeth and below the nose.........
I'm just trying to help out here, not cause trouble.

The dentist and I explored that in some detail. He said that ANY pressure (however slight) against bone for exptende dperiods of time will cause the bone to "resorb" into the body, which, trasnlated for laypeople, means bone loss. He also said that nutritional supplementation would not stave it off.

I just got back from the dentist--the last three or four nights with the Activa have made my top front teeth and top front gums sore. I showed the dentist the Activa and how it "sucks" onto your face and is worn with the straps very loose, and doesn't seem to apply pressure below the nose. Neverthel...

My experience is that my mouth can be open, but my airway opening to my mouth is still blocked by the natural position of my tongue. I can manually open that airway, with my mouth open, and feel the CPAP pressure escape, but it isn't automatically the case. In other words, you can nose-breathe with ...

Derek-- Don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but on loading MyEncore this AM I got two error messages, and when I continued past them, all of the views were empty. The two messages (paraphrased) were: 01/01/0001 is outside the min/max date range. Index was outside the bounds of the array....
