congestion
Hello! I have a nasal mask and like it ok, but lately I wake up all stuffed up and can't breathe. I have a heating pad that heats up my humidifier. I am taking allergy medicane, and even had to use nasal spray to open my nose passages before putting the mask back on in the middle of the night. HELP!

unable to breathe at night due to allergies
I recently moved, and my allergies have kicked in. I am using the nasal mask with a cool humidifer. I am waking up in the middle of the night, and my nose is so stuffed, I can't breathe through it. I use sinex nasal spray and put the mask back on and am able to sleep. Any ideas? Should I get another...

payments on an autopap
I want to get an autopap, but I don't have insurance. Does cpap.com take monthly payments? (wishful thinking I know!) I guess I can get it through Apria, and make payments that way. It cost much more this way though. Any other options I am not thinking of? Becca ~who wishes she were rich so she coul...

sore throat due to no mask during nap
I didn't get much sleep last night due to going to bed late and getting up early. I took a nap when I got home, except I fell asleep in my sisters room and my cpap isn't in there. I woke up a few hours later with a sore throat due to snoring! I don't feel any rested. I can't wait to sleep in my bed ...

new machine
OK, I know there have been many discussions about types of cpap machines, but I can't find what I am looking for in the search. I need to get a cpap machine. The one I have is rented and I need to turn it in. It would cost $700 with my insurance. ( Respironics Remstar plus C-flex ) My doctor is talk...

still confused
I am still confused about what the autopap does. I actually have one, but it is set as a cpap and can't be changed.
Does it let me know how many times I have apneas? Does the pressure setting change while I sleep?
Sorry, I just need to know what to say to my GP.

cpap v. autopap
I am talking to my GP today. She can change my prescription. Should I have her change it to an autopap? Why would this be better for me in general?

putting mask on when almost asleep
I have had my mask about a month. The easiest way I find to keep it on, is to let myself get really tired first. I will read, or do something that makes me sleepy. Many times I will fall asleep practically sitting up with the light on, and when I wake up I slip the mask on, shut off my light and the...

bite by a centipede under mask strap!
I just got woken up (at 5:30am) by a sharp sting on my cheek. I ripped my mask off and still I had this pain in my cheek. I couldn't figure out what was going on! I looked down and on my shirt was a centipede! I jumped out of bed and it fell to the floor. I have it trapped right now. I am just thank...

how do you know if you had apneas at night?
Many people have stated how many apneas they have at night, which is shown on their machine.
I have a cpap/bi-level unit but it is set at a 9, and cannot be adjusted.
There is a hourglass pic on there. What is that? I guess I should read the manual, huh?

treatment
All I know is that it is VERY important to get the rest you need. IMO that means with the machine on. Watching my 3 year old nephew go through chemo made me realize how important it was for him to get good sleep. The nurses were constantly coming in and waking my nephew up in the middle of the night...

just to clarify
I think I was unclear about the doctor who did the stress test and my GP. I wasn't seeing my gp when I went to cardiologist for stress test. It was the cardio doctor who was the jerk. He also later lost his license and there was a big scandal he was involved in. He was the one who told me to stop ea...
