When you change from 1.0 to 0.5 increments, the only difference is that you can set the machine to half-centimeter increments. There is no difference in the way (or the amount in this case) that the machine responds, unfortunately--I've tried.

420E Settings Question
Has anyone experimented with the "Max Pressure for Command on Apnea" setting? The default is 10 cmH20. I currently have the following settings: Max 10.0 Min 5.0 Init 6.5 IFL1 Off (to eliminate the "runaway" pressures I've experienced with it "on") IFL2 On Max Command on Apnea 10.0 I've noticed that ...

Hi GlassGal, In my case, using a ResMed Vista mask (very leaky for me--and most people), with IFL1 turned off, usually, the machine triggers on snore (acoustical vibration) by raising the pressure by 1 cmH20. The leakage then increases excessively due to a combination of higher pressure and a margin...

I've also been "tinkering". I have a 420E and have noticed that mask type makes a BIG, BIG difference. The machine is sensitive to leaks (pressure goes up agressively), and this seems to induce flow restrictions, central apneas, and central hypopneas for me. Therefore, I've had to use an Activa mask...

Will it have the same type of "Hall effect" flow sensor or will it use a pneumotach sensor? If it is a pneumotach sensor, will the machine be capable of detecting central events? Will the AHI and Mask Leak data still be accessable from the machine, or will additional software be required? How many d...

Question: Analysis Software for 420E
Last night, I tried recording a session directly to my laptop's hard drive. I realized this morning that the Silverlining 3.X does not seem to have the capability to go back and read these files. The file types are: *.fl, *.pr and *.lk. Does anyone know how to read these files, or what software (if ...

Another possibility: On the first two charts (in Auto mode), in both cases, the highly concentrated string of apneas occurs somewhere in the middle of the night. In both charts, the pressure at the time of these apneas was exactly at the first pressure increase of the evening to equal or exceed 10 o...

I agree with Rested Gal. Additionally, he would be able to determine whether or not these are actually Central Apnea's. I've found something interesting about myself using the 420E for the last several weeks: I am convinced now that the pressure runaways that I was having were caused by nasal obstru...
