Re: Blisters on top of nose

I still get them from time to time, and using the moleskin works wonders. Learned that here a few years ago. Good luck with your therapy and compliance.

Re: Perscriptions for CPAP Machines?

I diagnosed, and have treated my own sleep apnea since 2004. I am an RN/Paramedic, with lots of experience in my field. I quit dreaming, got 5x a night to pee, and started nodding while driving. Bought a used CPAP off ebay on a hunch, got a full FM and set the pressure to 10, and took a 4 hour nap. ...

Heated Hoses

I bought an Aussie hose a couple of years ago, and it seems to be not working anymore. Has anyone noticed that theirs wears out or is wearing out?

back pain

I sleep with a very thin pillow under my upper chest and this seems to help a lot (I sleep on my side). After switching to mirage activa nasal mask (when im not sick or have sinus infection), I have slept a bit better, as it puts up with turning a bit. The big plus to nasal masks is less mouth dryne...

very funny. Cpap made my gerd go bye bye. off all stomach meds now-x3 years. started 'papping in 12-2004. The best few things i've discovered is cflex, using a good chinstrap w/nasal mask (after using ffm for 2 years), heated humidity and aussie hoses, and NO MORE REFLUX! strange how that worked out.

Oxygen is a DRUG

Especially in patients with COPD, If you give them too much o2, they just quit breathing (and can DIE). For the ballpark ANY sat above 92% is just fine. Exceptions exist in the case of peds with congenital heart defects (where o2 rich and o2 poor blood are MIXED) they can live on a sat of 65-80% unt...

Cpap and Gerd

My GERD went bye bye as soon as I started CPAP. Also the position you are referring to w/ head elevated but NOT bent at waistline is called Reverse Trendelenburg. I learned a lot about GERD working with severely retarded children on G-Tube feeds at Arlington Developmental Center in TN. They put conc...

WTB F&P MR290 Chambers

does anyone know where I can order a few of these at a good price? They are the chambers that hook to an iv bag and last a long time. They work well with the hc-150 system.

Buffalo Al-My Dog Sebastian

That's my Shepherd, the second shep named Sebastian in the family, or Seb for short. If he comes near my snuggle hose, we'd have to tangle.

Haiku

My hose snorts loudly,
And gurgles in a frenzy,
time to dump the hose.

Everything is set,
No more leaks this time around,
Damn, my nose itches.

So, the mask comes off
I scratch the itch on my nose
Rain-out washes me.....
