That was my thought as well. Sleep for was trying anything I guess.
The hospital has just snapped that my son has sleep apnea. They are getting records from his sleep dr. Maybe they can do something.

Re: Can't Get Sleep Study
Well, that's what I thought but dr was trying to get some kind of study I guess. None of it makes sense to me.

Re: Can't Get Sleep Study
In addition, he was very compliant for the first four months despite terrible dry mouth, which he bought mouthwashes, sprays etc for. He didn't get much relief that he could tell. That is the problem with getting referred to a DEM that didn't have any info for how to get good results. I would think ...

Re: Can't Get Sleep Study
they gave him machine and he tried to get help adjusting to it and got frustrated with no support. The reason they picked up machine was that he switched insurance. That insurance got their machine back. His new insurance does not even want him to have a home study, much less give him a machine. He ...

Re: Can't Get Sleep Study
Lucyhere- supposedly the dr has appealed twice and been turned down. Makes no sense to me. They have records he had bad sleep apnea. He is falling asleep all during the day. It seems it's almost criminal to deny him at least a machine. But they won't do that without a study and insurance won't even ...

Re: Can't Get Sleep Study
All I know is dr said it was too old for him to go by. The sleep study he did was weird. After first one he had to go back twice because his numbers were haywire. I think they said he had Central Apnea. Something about the testing messed up his apnea. So they put him in a very expensive ASV BiPap ma...

Re: Can't Get Sleep Study
Thanks for advice. Unfortunately my son is living on disability below poverty level. His wife has epilepsy and has serious problems but does not have disability yet. They are living off of $750 a month. Just barely enough for food and gas. So they can't afford anything. It is so sad and so frustrati...

Re: My "tryer" is fluking out!
49er - Thanks for the reply! I do fall asleep on a dime when I'm not wearing the mask. All I have to do to stay awake is put on the mask! Are you thinking of having surgery? My ENT is encouraging me to do that. I'm thinking it would help me actually breath more when I wear the mask. Right now I feel...

My "tryer" is fluking out!
Oh, despite all the help I have gotten on this forum - I still find myself almost about to give up. I just can't seem to wear the mask for over 3 or 4 hours a night. I keep it on in the evening when I watch television trying to get used to it. My mask appears to have very little leakage. It's not th...

Re: Every which way but up!
There was some waster in the hose, but it's gone. Machine seems to be working okay. But I'm concerned it will happen again. I told my sleep dr I have RSBD and she said she thought it was from sleep apnea. As soon as I was on CPAP therapy, I would be fine. But I've run into walls and furniture and ha...

Every which way but up!
Oh, still struggling to started on CPAP. I have gotten some sleep however. But I'm not able to get my minimum hours in yet. I will wake up with my mask off. Two days in a row I woke up with my mask still on. I was so excited until I realized somehow I had pulled off the mask hose from the humidifier...

Understanding terms - Flow restriction, Clear Airway
Okay, I'm taking the advice to learn how to post my info from SleepyHead, but in the meantime I was curious. It looks like the most "events" I'm having are Flow Restrictions. I'm confused about exactly what that is. It sounded like may RERAs or Hypopneas, but there is a separate label for those two....
