condensation

The way I am reading it and I read it about 15 times until my brains were sucked up into a vortex, you not only want humidity but you need humidity but at a certain point too much will make condensation and then all that other "stuff" happens. So condensation lowers the pressure, as does, hose lengt...

Humidifier

Salt is not a good idea..will actually make more steam and will intensify the problem....not sure what it will do to the equipment. I actually responded to this in another post about heat and humidity. Use saline nasal spray daily...you can use limitless amounts of it. Read the suggestions on the ot...

Nose Job

Well, that might be nice if you always wanted a nose job!! Sorry, couldn't resist. I have never heard that...ever. However, the Nasalaire caused nasal hemmorhaging and required 3 repairs to stop it. I would not wish that on anyone. My ENT told me to never, ever, ever wear anything that was inserted ...

Heat

Depends what you are using! Any type of face mask will make you "sweat" just from your own breathing warming in the mask. 3 things I have done: Turn off the humidifier and use it as a passover only....but if you get too dry you will have to set it at 1 or 2. Use a different interface .....now you kn...

Get the Remstar Auto with CFLEX....it gives you all the options. Usable as straight CPAP or Auto, with or without CFLEX. Make sure you get the INTEGRATED HUMIDIFIER!!! The software is a must and then download Derek's MYENCORE program....it will give you more information than the Encore Pro software....

problems

Using nasal pillows......might need a full face mask if you are mouth breathing. I did that when I hit the top of my pressure setting. Need to know your titration levels.......don't be surprised if they need adjusting. If you have an RT who is working with you, call them and get help..that is what t...

OK, here is the key to the DaVinci Code!!! You are absolutely on the right track. 1. Unplug the machine 2. Hold down the right and left user keys 3. Plug the machine back in and hold the user keys down until you hear a beep 4. Menu will show a bunch of crap and then start flashing 5. use left and ri...

"squeakies"

My new one, 7 months old, had a squeak also.......talk about irritating. Took the new mask out and inserted it into my old, renovated headgear...end of problem. There is definitely something different about the new mask......just not as comfortable as the old one. No solution for you...sorry!

Reviving Snore Index questions

I decided to revive this series of posts after conversing with Derek. As Rested Gal will attest, I have consistently complained about the snore index. It would be in the high 20s and low 30s. My sleep study and titration study both indicated that I had NO SNORING (which is completely against everyth...

Sleep Study

My PCP sent me to the cardiologist, who sent me to the Pulmonolist, who sent me to the Sleep Center, where I had the unfortunate experience of having a horrible sleep study and equally bad titration study. I also had the misfortune of working with a Sleep Doctor who was an *********! After 6months o...
