Hi , If the valve is open during your therapy, then you aren't getting the correct therapy. Your machine would have trouble maintaining the proper treatment pressure. The valve should close once therapy starts, and open when the pressure stops from the cpap. Generally they close at 2 to 4 cm of pres...

There seems to be about 50 threads per page, so you can use the link: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewforum.php?f=1&topicdays=0&start=12050 and set --> start=n where n=(my page number I want to go to' - 1 ) * 50. Want to go to page 10? Set start=(10-1=9) * 50 = 450 so you would use http://www.cpa...

I have had a cold this week, and haven't been able to tolorate CPAP at all. Most nights I find the mask coming off, and when I look at how long I used the machine each night, it varies from minutes to just a few hours. I can't seem to keep even the FF mask on, and the nasal mask is useless right now...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.

So I have only had my nose to the hose since August 4 and I am still waiting for the burst of energy. I am committed to making this work for me even though it has been far from easy. I often read encouragement that says hang in there, it is worth it. I believe I will someday get there, and that it ...

Yes, the FDA approves masks. Well . . . sort of.

I had PVC's during my sleep test, and even during the day would feel my heart -thud- or skip beats. Since CPAP, these have stopped, at least my perception of them has. My Dr. said they are often benign and often a symptom of OSA.

Sounds like a sinus infection.

It IS that time of year when they are more likely to occur. I wouldn't think it is at all related to CPAP, just a bad coincidence.

I'm at pressure 14cm, and use a Resmed Activa, with great results. The Resmed UMFF just didn't hold a seal at 14 for me at all. Everyone is different, and we each have masks that work for us, and masks that don't. Unfortunately it is a trial and error thing. My DME had a limited selection, and only ...

Seeing Resmed efficacy and usage data too

Oh, and by the way, holding down the left and right keys for 3 seconds allows you to review nightly efficacy data (AHI, AI, and HI) and usage data in hours:minutes. That way you can review your treatment's effectiveness.

I use the Activa for a nasal interface and it's the best I've used. I love it. But I'm a mouth breather so I tape. I want a FF mask that is similar to the activa. I've tried the Hans Rudolph as a backup mask and that is 'close' to working perfectly for me, but the silicone is a bit too stiff. It nee...

I've been on CPAP for about 2 months. The first thing I wanted was a power outage alarm to wake me if the power got cut off. I have a house wide generator since I have frequent (1 per month avg) outages. I found the alarms online for about 40 bucks, and then saw a deal on buy . com for a 550 KvA PC ...
