These things seem to come in two different types, ones intended for use in doctors offices to get a quick reading and ones that record results over a long period. As I see it for the info to be usefull for us it needs to have the following characteristics. 1) Be able to record for at least 8 hours, ...

I think a "tollerable" level of sound is very much a matter of environment and personal opinion. I grew up in a neighborhood next to a working coal mine, I had the sound of the equipment 24/7 and the coal trains being marshalled and run out of the freight yards. Consequently I can sleep though most ...

I have 5.7 and mine still clatters. If you send me the patch I can place it somewhere and make a link available for download. I can see why Resmed would not want this software in the hands of general users, it is extremely poorly designed and if you had to support a large number of users, even perip...

Not really a suggestion but an observation. When I put together my "travel kit" I selected an 8ft hose because that gave me maximum flexibility positioning the machine in the hotel room. When I gave back the rental machine they wanted the hose back so I started using the 8ft hose on a nightly basis....

CPAP is a treatment and not a cure. All it does is manage the problem in a non surgical way. Back about 6 years ago a colleague had severe apnea that was cured by moving his jaw forward (I kid you not) after which his airway was no longer obstructed and he was fine. Personally wearing a mask every n...

Man this is spooky! I headed in late to work today after my first bad night on CPAP thinking I'd ask you folks for advice. I started at the end of July/beginning of August and recently bought an auto when my insurance cover started to lapse. I had been having problems because I was taking the mask o...

What they are doing is falling back on a business model that prevailed for most of the last century, the concept of the "Authorised Agent." It's extremely common in any market where the product being purchased is expected to need extensive after sales support. Your local new car dealership is anothe...

My experience is exactly the same as yours. I got the more vivid dreams and have problems taking my mask off. I found that changing mask to one that doesnt squeeze the face works for me. Odd as it seems I found the less pressure you have around your nose the less likely you are to unconsciously remo...

People get surprisingly combative when their buying decisions are questioned. I bought a new pickup truck earlier this year and never having owned one before I went to forums very similar to this one to get user opinions. You would be amazed at the level of flamewars that can erupt over a small truc...

I have an S8 Escape and a humidifier. My Dr says I need the humidifier. I am thinking of upgrading to a machine with EPR. My choices are a Vantage (because I already have a humidifier that fits) or a REMStar EPR with a humidifier. Since I only have $600 to spend I can't follow the recomendation of f...
