Can anyone walk me thru shutting off the c-flex feature on my machine and also increasing the pressure by 1?
I am trying to pin down or rule out reasons for waking up still gasping.
Thanks
Larissa

woke up gasping for air last night
Hi there...I have been on CPAP since Sept 06. Have felt for a few months now that my pressure wasnt high enough-it is set at 8. I still wake frequently (maybe 5-6 times a night, that I know of) but last night my husband said I raised up off of my stomach, gasping....He said it scared the crap out of...

I had the same reaction to my first mask that had similar "pads" on my forehead. My red bumps were very sore, then were infected and scabbing....definitely keep an eye on them..>I had to get a prescript to get my face to clear up and have since changed masks. The dr at the sleep lab thought maybe it...

Hey Snowdog I've been contemplating a UPPP for a couple of weeks now. The ENT I saw thought I would be a great candidate and would have 75-80% success rate because I am not overweight, dont snore-so he is attributing my mild-moderate apnea to more of an anatomical reason....he says my uvula is prett...

Surgery or not-Part 2
Ok, so I saw the ENT today-the nurse as well as the doc were very surprised that I had apnea because I didnt fit the mold.....female, thin, non snorer....he said typically in those cases the cause is anatomy related.....which he said I have a large uvula that hangs down very low......everything else...

Hi there...I am in Colorado too, Littleton actually. Where my sleep study was done I was told the first three months were rental payments-4th month you buy it, so to me that means if I dont like it or want another within the first 3 months I can return it-I didnt ask if the money you paid for "renta...

Thanks to all for your great advice-as usual! I have decided to still meet with the ENT to see if he can tell me what is causing my obstruction...I am not going to have surgery-just going for info...then I will make an appt with the director of the sleep lab who is an MD and ask him lots of question...

What is involved in a titration test?
Besides suggesting surgery, my dr said I could do a titration test to see if my level needs to be adjusted. What does that involve? Another night in the sleep lab?

SelfSeeker- I told the dr that I didnt want to be taking sleep meds for the rest of my life and he said that he would do the surgery before he let me take them forever. I would take OTC sleep meds on occasion prior to CPAP-maybe once or twice a month, if that. Mainly because I hated the groggy feeli...

Thanks to all who have replied so far....I did check out the ASAA forum-found lots of helpful information-at least I know exactly what the surgery entails....I'm pretty sure I am NOT going to have the surgery...but will still meet with the ENT and I think I will call the sleep center tomorrow for th...

dont know what to do-surgery or not??
I went to my dr today just to talk about my experiences with CPAP for the past 5 weeks. Wondering if maybe my pressure needed to be adjusted...currently at an 8. I have to sleep with some kind of sleep aid...ie....sleeping pills-prescribed or OTC....or valium but those only help for about 4 hrs then...

RLS was ruled out in my sleep study and I'm assuming that I dont have PLSD-it did mention chronic pain (fibromyalgia) so maybe that is what is waking me?? I do have some muscle relaxers and I recall my dr saying that is what they use to treat fibromyalgia...so maybe tonight I will try those...Also-t...
