Thanks to everyone, I really do appreciate the help and suggestions. My primary care doctor is very involved. I'm on blood pressure meds and my pressure is great according to my doc. He knows of my complaints, and said he really didn't know what to do in terms of my concerns with cpap therapy. The s...

Need Help

This site was invaluable to me as I began my journey with sleep apnea treatment. Now, I'm back needing more help. I've been extremely compliant for several months. I've logged right at 1300 hours on my machine..a respironics auto with c/flex. Before starting cpap therapy, I had horrible headaches ev...

The subconscious is an interesting thing....

I am so amazed at how the subconscious works! First, you have to understand that one of the main 'symptoms' i had of the sleep apnea was horrible headaches each morning that lasted usually throughout the day, but getting duller as the day went on. During my sleep study, they found out that my O2 lev...

You may become my new best friend! lol I think we use the same machine as well....do you have clinical manuals? How do I get them? Also, I want to ge...

Mask Problems

I'm really trying hard to get used to everything and seem to be adjusting ok, mostly, but I'm having problems with mask leaks. Most of the leaks seem to occur around my eyes. I've only tried two masks now...the one pictured below and a respironics model that is similar but has a gel cushion. (a 'dis...

Yep...mine leaked multiple times...the DME thought I was nuts and when I suggested I would never take it apart again once sealed; that I would just clean it again through the holes in the top. In fact, I had him provide me with a new one and have pretty much determined to NOT take it apart. It's ver...

Here is my experience. I went to the DME after having Cpap prescribed. They provided me with a new cpap machine with cflex. It worked, but after learning more here, I decided I wanted the Autopap....I just like the idea of being able to monitor my results. I called the DME and they said I would have...

I'm not sure about in the nineties, but mine was as low as 68% while sleeping and they didn't give me oxygen, but said it could be dangerous. 'S all I know. lol

New Machine???

Ok, so last night, I realized that for sure my machine has a major leak. There was water everywhere. I'm going to take it back to the DME tomorrow. I'm thinking of maybe trying to get a different machine since they have to exchange it anyway....I want one that will record the sleep data so I can rev...

Update from Bellasmiles

Thanks to eveyone who gave me information and advice in my previous post. It all was encouraging and helpful. I'm finding that the therapy that I thought would be a quick and easy fix for a longtime problem is really a major adjustment. Each night, I'm trying to refine the process of being 'attached...

Thanks for the welcomes and help everyone! I've updated my profile, but am not yet 100% certain that I got the humidifier correct. Also, my mask wasn't listed. It's a FlexiFit 406 nasal mask by Fisher & Paykel. I went today to the DME and got the same mask, but in a size larger. The RT who helped me...

Newbie Here

Hi to all. I'm a 37 year old female just diagnosed with OSA and only on a cpap for two nights so far. There is so much to learn and while I'm very motivated to make the machine work for me, I'm having trouble...what a shock, right? lol I have a respironics made cpap machine with c-flex, which seems ...
