JB, I think the weight gain to your upper body is called...HERE IT GOES... AGE. I have found the same thing happening to me, and I'm only about 10 lbs overweight. It seems it is all going to my midsection and face if I gain a pound or two. If I lost that 10 lbs I'd like? I might get the midsection p...

Yes, I can hear the sirens. Our tornado season in Oklahoma (I live in Oklahoma City) is pretty much done and over, though. We sent all that stuff up Minnesota way, ROFL! in '99 we had a catagory 5 tornado (with the highest tornado winds EVER recorded) that wiped out a bunch of south Oklahoma City an...

I never had any problems with cholesterol until recently. The past few years I've had some major health problems. As I said, an arrythmia problem since my 20s, with the ablation a few years ago. Then I got breast cancer. I was taking Premerin, which I believe helped hold down the cholesterol, but we...

I do not have the Activa, but when I had my follow-up visit with my Pulmonologist, he said when I got my next mask, I might want to try the Activa. He got one and demonstrated how it worked. He said it was very important to only hold the mask lightly in front of your face until you turn on the PaP. ...

I started out with my first mask, the Resmed Ultra Mirage Full Face mask. It is okay, but has some leakage problems when I move around. I got the Swift nasal pillows a month later, and like it way the best. It didn't hurt my nose where it fits, but seemed to irritate the nasal passages or something....

average weight

I guess my weight is in the average range for my height and weight. Throughout my sleep studies, they always remarked that I wasn't heavy enough to have OSA. I think I'm about 10 lbs over what I feel and look my best at. Seems that I'll lose 2 pounds, then eat everything in sight until it is back on...

Yes, I do live in a hot climate here in Oklahoma. Last summer's high was only 98, but we've already topped that...hit 99 a few days back. We can get as hot as 110 but usually not. We've not had rain in forever so we're dry, but today the showers came and you can cut the humidity with a knife. Went o...

Okay, so it is from Australia and I have to have an adapter to plug into the wall. My hose goes from my BiPAP to my mask, the hose doesn't plug into the wall. So I'm not quite getting it. <scratching head, feeling dumb> Thanks for the input, when I get a chance I'll go to that website and check it o...

What Crisp said is funny, and yet not funny, because that's the discription of what I did for years. I'd go to sleep on my side and wake up on my stomach with my chin on my hands like you do if you lean over on the table that way. Elbows on bed, forearms up, chin on crossed hands, neck and back arch...

Making progress with Swift but having rainout

I finally got over my post-op congestion which cause the BiPAP pressure to hurt my ears. For the first time, I was able to sleep 7 hours with my Swift Nasal Pillow system. Which I love, BTW. The next night without therapy. The reason for that is I had so much rainout that water collected everywhere,...

Hi, for some reason I have never gotten up tight about having surgery. My sister does, but I just don't. I had general anesthesia besides the nerve block. They thought initially I had a torn rotator cuff and was prepared to do a 1 1/2 hour surgery. Once they got in there, there was no torn cuff. But...

Ear pressure

I had my shoulder surgery 8 days ago. Ouch...yip..yip...yip...YIPE! The whole purpose for me getting my BiPAP when I did was so I could sleep on my back after surgery. I had a nerve block to the shoulder. Only thing, it was put in my neck artery, and the right side of my neck, arm, and right lung wa...
