Jeff, don't know where YOU live, but in my neck of the woods, the anesthesiologist comes in and asks a few questions and that's it. No looking in the throat, taking measurements, or anything like that. I've been put under 3 times in the last two years and nobody gave me that kind of care! There have...

Sleepless, I can't help you on the card/reader as I don't have one. I asked for one, but my evil DME said "There are so many different machines/programs out there that we can't possibly be expected to have all of those on our computers," and refused me. I could get them on cpap.com , but I'm having ...

I've been put under several times since having OSA, but each time was before I got my BiPAP. I always told them I had OSA and occasionally some CSA , and whatever they did worked. Although in the recovery room, I think I had some trouble as I was very sleepy, and we all know what deep sleep lying on...

TAP device
What is the TAP device they are talking about? Oklahoma City, where I live, has two doctors who practice together who do the Pillar procedure. I called their office yesterday to find out how much it costs. The receptionist quoted $1400. That falls in line with what was stated above. She said the mon...

Those are good links, thank you. Now I won't have to wait for it to be posted on KFor's site. Has anyone in this forum tried this procedure? It sounds interesting, and relatively inexpensive. How much can they charge for a 10 minute procedure, after all? I realize the pillars cost, probably an arm a...

New treatment for snoring
Last night on our local television medical segment, there was a clip on curing snoring. I missed out on the beginning of it, but saw a doctor spray a man's throat with numbing spray. Then he made a slit in the soft palate, and slipped in a curved piece of plastic. It appeared to be a tube, maybe 1 t...

Sleepless, Another thought I had. When you got your equipment, did anyone show you the proper way to put on the mask, and how tight to adjust the straps? Or was it like it was with me. She slapped a mask on me, it whistled, so she yanked it off and put a large on. The large didn't fit but didn't whi...

As a newbie , I can't offer a lot of advice. But to me, it seems that a year should be enough time to get some benefit. I would think you should be feeling more rested. From what I read on this forum, most seem to love their auto paps with C flex. If you can afford it, get your doctor to give you a ...

This is a very real concern to me. I'm in the last stages of some expensive dental work. I didn't ask my dentist about masks, and he didn't volunteer anything, although I did tell him I was getting treatment. I don't use the nose mask. I do have the Ultra Mirage FF. I assume with it, the concern wou...

Janelle, I'm surprised this whole forum isn't funneling to your doctor by now! I'm glad my pressures are low with my BiPAP because it works fine for me. I'll leave the explanation as to the difference between BiPAP and auto to some of the more experienced and knowledgeable, as I am entirely too new ...
