After my second email to Airtran, I got the following reply: Dear Rose, You are correct it looks like after further review you will be allowed to carry on the CPAP machine and it not be part of your carry on. Just do keep in mind all the final decision are made at the airport. If I can assist you fu...

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I have emailed the airline again asking them to reconsider their decision. I gave them links and explained very nicely that if I am reading them correctly, I have a right to take my CPAP on the plane without it counting as an extra carry on. If I get a positive ...

Re: joint pain and accommodation
Rose- I also have joint pain from arthritis, as well as fibromyalgia. I have found I am just too tuckered out to walk through airports with a cane, purse strapped across my chest, pulling my luggage, with a carry-on bag on top. The pain is excruciating for me, with failing joints and an artificial ...

How about getting a carry-on bag that's big enough for your CPAP gear and your laptop? I guess that is my only option, but it will be a heavy bag and probably not easy to get in the overhead bin. I have joint and muscle problems that make things like that very difficult. I had read some posts on he...

I guess you are upset about it counting as carry-on as opposed to having to carry it on. Personally, I am not letting that machine out of my sight on trips. I do not trust an airline to take car of a machine like that. I would carry it on and be happy. Sorry, guess I wasn't clear enough in my post....

Airline says CPAP will be carry on
I am taking a trip in a few months and decided to check with the airline on their policy for medical devices. This is the answer I received: Dear Rose, Thank you for contacting AirTran Airways. The CPAP machine will count as one of your carry on items. Either you personal or carry on just depending ...

Encore Installed - Should I Raise Pressure
After two days of stuggling I finally got my Encore Pro and card reader installed and working. I thought I was computer literate, but this was the most difficult thing I have ever had to install. Looking at my first report, I think I need to increase the max pressure on my Auto machine. Right now it...

Could someone with the M series machine tell Rachael how to access her LCD data? Rachael, you machine is storing info on what pressure you are averaging. It also shows apneas you might be having. Not as much info as the card reader and software, but important data nevertheless. You just need to pre...

A little hint w/the CL2 nasal cushion: just shifting the headgear a LITTLE to the right or left can often stop a leak. Also, boy, how to explain this one ... just scrunching your upper lip a little can often stop a leak, assuming these leaks are at the cheek area and not the eye area. Thanks for th...

First Night Not Great
Well my Remstar M Series Auto arrived yesterday. I spent the evening getting it set up and trying to fit my comfortlite 2. I have the simple cushion and the direct seals. Tried both, but had some leaks from both if I didn't stay on my back. I normally sleep on my side, so this didn't make it easy. T...
