OK, assume it's just the air from the CPAP drying my skin out painfully. Is there anything I can do about it other than rub moisturizer on it and hope? (I did that today, it hasn't helped yet.)

Help? I can't be the only one this has happened to.

I didn't know people could be allergic to silicone; that's worrying. And as another data point, I tried loosening my mask last night just in case that was the problem, and all that got me was waking up numerous times in the night to reseat my mask, and now that entire triangle area of my face feels ...

Why is my face burning?

Hi all. My one month followup appointment at the sleep lab is next week, and I have already changed masks once. The new mask (Comfortgel Petite) mainly works for me, and I find it much more comfortable than the original one I had (can't recall what exactly it was, but it was small, not petite) that ...

Do you already have a bad back? It could be that sleeping with the CPAP has altered your sleeping position and it's not one that your back likes. Mine's been giving me trouble since I started on CPAP too, but I've also been lazy about doing my physical therapy exercises.

I was diagnosed with mild to moderate RLS during my sleep study (which also found I had severe sleep apnea). I was also diagnosed with severe anemia soon after, however, so my doctor put me on high dosages of iron. Now I have iron and a CPAP and no more RLS (can't comment on the anemia as I haven't ...

Hot chocolate makes me sleepy, and chocolate has caffeine in it, IIRC.

All we have in the house for real soap is Dr. Bronner's peppermint. Would that be OK, despite the scent? I think everything else we have would be worse. We do have baby shampoo, but I prefer the scent of peppermint to that of baby shampoo, if I am going to risk having to breathe fragrance all night.

Re: Emotional impact of OSA and CPAP

When I first started treatment I was just so relieved to have finally found the solution to what was wrong with me. I had been wondering around in a daze for months (years). Now that I am thinking clearer I'm a bit bummed out about the fact that I am going to now have to live with this machine the ...

Wow, thanks for all the helpful responses. You guys are great! I do want to say, though, that I originally entered counselling after a family tragedy, so "depression" wasn't an unfair assumption, and the Prozac did help. One interesting thing - my sleep study also showed that I have mild RLS. My blo...

New here, love my CPAP

I just registered this morning, and I've had my CPAP for a week and a half. My sleep study was back on 3 July, but it took the sleep center and my doctor a while to get coordinated. I've been dealing with depression pretty much forever, and have been medicated for it for three years. I went off my m...
