... don't worry about, just order the thing. I'm not at all worried about it. But the DME is concerned about it, and I'm also checking because I'm not sure if the insurance company will cover it. Also, I want to put the DME's mind at rest because I know that there are a LOT of people he supplies he...

Thank you Snoredog for the info. I received permission from SleepZone to post their reply; looks like the power supply they send with the hose IS US approved, it's the hose that isn't. Here it is verbatim: > SleepZone wrote : Thurs 19th Oct 8.55 AM > > G'Day Teresa from Australia "down under" > Our ...

I got a reply from them (that was fast) saying they are NOT approved for use in Canada or the US as the cost of getting certified is too much. But they are certified on the Australia Register of Therapeutic Goods and that each heated tube is labelled with a tag that shows the required listing number...

Is Aussie Heated hose "approved" for use in US/Can

We're finally at the tail-end of getting insurance approval for my husband's equipment and settling on what we'll end up with. The DME has ordered a heated hose for us but he says he's not sure if it's approved for North American electrical standards. I think he means in the sense, in Canada (where ...

Any APAP's with integrated heated hose?

I know that Fisher Paykel makes a CPAP machine with a heated hose, and my husband loved that, but he (I )wants an APAP so he can collect data and have more choices, but now he's missing the heated hose and suffering rainout (even with a hose cover). Are there any other brands of APAP that also have ...

From my perspective, I find my husband much healthier and happier when his CPAP therapy is working. In fact, I'm the one on this board, not him , and I'm much more "into" his therapy than he is. More than once he's felt like giving up. I find it very reassuring to see him with the mask and know I do...

Actually, she contacted me first. I'm going to wait until we decide if this is the mask for him, and also we'll probably wait for the "new and improved" headgear.

Theresa, Go to Joann's Fabric or any sewing crafts store and get some more heavy duty velcro. SNIP The padacheeks are FABULOUS. He's still not sure if this is the answer, we'll adjust the nasal pillows tonight and see if that helps. The Padacheeks are available for the Hybrid, but not through CPAP....

http://www.sinucleanse.com/ . I would stay away from anything, including squirt bottles, that applies pressure into the nose. The neti pot is an exception. The pressure is a steady gentle pressure of gravity as the water is poured into the nostrils. That definitely looks like a good system too. But...

But I don't see the Hybrid listed as a mask it supports. Does anyone already use these for a Hybrid?

While I wait for them to arrive, I guess I could use some polar fleece and whip up a couple of temporary ones.

He ended taking off the mask at 5am because of sore nostrils, which he's never had the whole time he's used nasal pillows, so I guess that part was too tight. Tonight, we'll adjust the nasal pillows to the lower position. I don't think the mask leaked at all though, so that's a good sign. I'll have ...

Side/Stomach Sleepers: Hybrid adjustments?

My husband has had the Hybrid for a week now, and he's been having problems with the mouth mask leaking when he sleeps on his side or stomach. He gave up after two nights. I've been too tired to persevere, but I now have my second wind and am doing more research. Other than tightening the straps, ar...

I've used both the neti pot and the SinusRinse. You can get more volume with a neti pot, and it works with a slightly different action. It has a long spout so you get more pressure. Like with the SinusRinse the water goes in one nostril and comes out through the other. You can also "snork" as you're...

Thanks. He'll work on getting more hours on CPAP. I'm still curious about what the average Mask Leak numbers mean: Average Max Leak: 136.1 Average 90% Leak: 26.3 Average Leak: 21.0 I guess having an average AHI of 1.9 is good? AHI meaning apnea-hypopnea index? Apnea I know means when you stop breath...

Interpreting Leak Data from AutoPAP

My husband's DME lent him an AutoPAP as a CPAP for the past week to collect some data (we're in Canada, and we paid a $250 deposit for a trial until we settle on the equipment, then we'll buy it). He was using the RemStar Auto with nasal pillows. There was an Encore Pro report, 10 pages long. They g...
