Hi, I tape with a full face mask to prevent dryness, was given the full face as a result of mouth breathing, but they don't tell you how dry you will get. Have a post recently on this. Anyway, I use 3M Transpore tape, stays in place with a humidity setting of 3.5, and works beautifully. The only neg...

Hey there, Definitely try to use the energy toward walking, or some type of exercise. That extra energy is a blessing. As for sharing a room with someone, or someone seeing you in it, I can relate as I am a firefighter who has to sleep in the same room with up to 6 other guys, and have been worried ...

Thanks, will try the roof of the mouth thing. The only reason I have a ff mask is because of jaw dropping down while asleep. I can breathe fine through my nose. Taping my mouth closed has been an answer, but would like to eliminate the tape.

UMFF and dry mouth

Was wondering if anyones experiences dry mouth using the UMFF from Resmed. I have a setting of 14, and use the ffmask because I can't keep my mouth closed during sleep. My F&P machine is set at 3.5 out of 4 for humidity, if I go to 4, I get alot of water in the hose. I still get extreme dry mouth at...

Resmed UMFF Dryness?

Just switched from F&P 432 (I am between Med and Large, and cannot get a good seal, especially after 8 mos of use) to Resmed Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask, it seals great, and is very comfortable with no nose bridge problems. Now I wake up with the worst dry mouth ever. I have played with my humidific...

I get alot of soreness with my large 432, started with medium, and that was worse. Try using a small round bandage that covers the bridge of the nose, it has worked for me. Am still perservering however, I think the nose develops some resistance to it. Keep your nose and mask seal clean also, one pi...

Great idea, will try it. There is no doubt that the 432 is a better mask than the 431 overall, the seal with the foam is a huge improvement. A little tweaking is probably the answer given everyones different facial structures.

I have a 432, and it has a foam cushion underneath the silicone seal. This is designed to alleviate the amount of pressure required to get a good seal, the foam provides rigidity so the unsupported silicone doesnt mash down on your face to get a seal (as in the 431). Although this mask feels absolut...

I just started using the Fisher and Paykel 432 which replaces the 431 full face mask, and I like it so far. It has a foam cushion in the seal which keeps it from mashing down on your nose, aleviating that discomfort. If you are not too claustrophobic, I find this mask actually comfortable and relaxi...

Use the 431 and love it. Don't need the quick release, you figure out quickly how to use the closure on it's own and it is easy.
Highly recommend this mask.

Hi there, Have a problem with mouth breathing, so I use a Fisher and Paykel 431 full face mask, and it works great. It causes a little discomfort on the bridge of the nose for me, but they have a new design out that uses foam in the seal that is supposed to work better. Will be getting one, I guess....

Wow, poor girl, you got hammered on this. Anyway, I have been on CPAP for a month, and my wife is freaked out by it and she is a physician. It is totally weird, even from my persepective, and I don't blame you for leaving the room. It is like a freakshow, I wear a full face mask, and even sometimes ...

I have a ff Fisher and Paykel mask, and use really small round Elastoplast bandages on the bridge of my nose. They are thin enough not to cause leaks, and really protect it. \
