You have the machine, now it's time to get the software and reader, so you can figure out what's going on. I would trust myself before I would trust the doctors. Jim 1. The problem w/using the Cpap w/software is that I have not been able to fall asleep w/cpap on me. 2. I forgot to mention I am now ...

2 studies completely different results-need advice
Hi-ABout 2 months ago I had a split-night study which did not go well. I only slept about 101 minutes for the 1st part and only got into stage 2 for 2 mins. They said I had an AHI of 52.2 all HYPOPNEAS . Put CPAP on me only got to 6 cm still had 15 HYPOPNEAS-Stage 1 47.5, Stage 2 20.0, Stage 3-0 (?)...

how much time needed for a sleep study
I have seen many posts asking if they were asleep long enough for a competent evaluation at their sleep study. So how long is enough for the doctors/technicians to really get an idea of your sleep. Is it one sleep cycle? Or is more time necessary??

One more pulse ox question
I have to turn in my pulse ox from my DME, so I have one last question. I might have asked this before but did not get enough responses. When I am laying in bed at night, watching tv and starting to doze off I will look at the pulse ox and the oxygen saturation is 98 but my heart rate is going down...

What are those machines?? Vpap/Bipap etc. How do I know if the shallow breathing is a real issue. I have an ENT right now who is "treating" my OSA. He is not a sleep specialist, but he did say during my visit, "well it looks like you are not breathing at all during the night". I feel like I am on my...

thanks
The clinician menu was left in w/my machine and I know how to up the pressure. Do I need to check w/my DME first. I thought I would start w/6 because I usually sleep on my side, but during the titration study it said I was on my back the whole time-so I would think I would have more events on my bac...

some more info
I am replying to the poster who asked for more info. During my study I had an RDI (is that the same as AHI) of 52.2, lowest Sao2 was 92.0. They did a split night study and only got to 6 but I still had an RDI of 15, I guess time ran out. My Apap is set I think just 4min-20 max, c-flex at 3. But I wa...

Are certain machines better at dectecting hypopneas?
I am having problems getting adjusted to Cpap. When diagnosed w/OSA last month the sleep report stated I only have hypopneas, no apneas. Well. with my Remstar Auto M Series, I still feel that shallow breathing feeling which is what brought me to the Dr. in the first place. I have 2 theories: 1) Eith...
