I like having my hose over my head. Since my Simplicty mask has a swivel feature I can put the hose where I want it. I also have a wrought iron bed with a straigth smooth bar that runs across the head of the bed, so I have my hose over my head and attached to that bar so it will slide with me as I m...

Taping Mask?

I moved from a Small Simplicity Mask to a Medium size because I felt I was re-breathing air in the small mask - too close a fit for my nose I think. At any rate the Medium give me fresher air, but I have some leakage around the bridge of my nose and into my eyes when I turn on my side. Can I tape th...

I suggest you talk with your doctor. As you can see from the posts, there are meany reasons you may be experiencing acid reflux. It is not uncommong with OSA -- I started experiencing it prior to my sleeping with CPAP. I was eating Tums like crazy and when I talked with my doctor (not my sleep docto...

I don't have a spouse, but since I've been diagnosed I just KNOW that my friends and co-workers to not understand the depth of devistation that OSA causes. However, I printed out Josh's initial post and some of the replies and showed them to my friends and I think they FINALLY 'got it'. Sounds to me...

Once again, thanks for the encouragement and suggestions. And a special thanks to Offerocker -- i did reduce the humidity and that has helped tremendously. I will also try your cleaning suggestions. Certainly the other component is that my mouth is falling open -- my sister and the atty I work for b...

Hi Maureen! I too am on my 3rd night (well the first night was an abort for me since the mask just did not work at all). Last night I slept from Midnight until 4:45 a.m. with my mask, but I woke myself up when I tried to breathe through my mough. My mouth was so dry I took off the mask and drank som...

Yes, SleepyHibiscus! It is unfortunately true about so many of women's symptoms that we are overlooked, dismissed or mis-diagnosed. I read a WONDERFUL book "A Woman's Guide to Sleep Disorders" by Meir Kryger, who is a past president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He talked about all the ...

THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I had not been putting my night time lotion on my face because I thought I read somewhere that I was not supposed to use lotion, but at my age if I don't use lotion for a few nights my face is going to crack! Also thought I might be going "goofy" with that whitsle sound -- nice...

First Night of Sleeping with Simplicity Mask - it whistles!

Well, guess I'm no longer a virgin LOL but that doesn't mean I know exactly what's going on! Before my machine ramped up to the full 8m, my mask whistled! Anyone else experience this with the simplicity? Also, i used the humidifier and my nose wasn't so dry but my mouth was extremely dry and my soft...

Are there any other women on this forum with OSA?

Hello, I have recently been diagnosed with OSA and received my machine and mask last night. The doctor suggested the Comfort Curve mask for me and I tried that last night, but it was too large. I am a petite woman with a small nose (all measurements are 1 1/4, except nose length which is 1 1/2!) and...
