iVAPS ST-A??

I have been on CPAP for a month. I have mild-moderate lung disease (bronchiectasis). I have some mild expiratory discomfort despite EPR 3 and my pulmonologist sent me to a sleep pulmonologist colleague. This new doctor did not review my pulmonary function testing, was not interested in using the SD ...

Headache

Screenshot 2026-05-21 at 10.17.44 AM.png 2nd night with CPAP - is it normal adjustment to wake up with a headache both days? my numbers seem good, AHI 0.1. I increased the humidity a bit yesterday but that didn't seem to help. I uploaded the card to Oscar and don't know how to read the data very we...

First night CPAP

I have a Resmed 11 and a Dreamwear Nasal Mask. My pressures are 5-12 and the RT who brought it set the EPR at 3 because exhalation was difficult. Last night I managed to sleep from 10:30 to 4 am, the mask did not bother me much and I did not wake up feeling suffocated or with any trouble breathing. ...

How do I find a reputable private provider of CPAP in NYC?

I am desperate. I have been suffering for 3 months with increasing exhaustion and headaches and the Weill Cornell Sleep Center is slow-walking this process. I got a titration study over a week ago, it is still pending, and now I am told it will take a month after that is finalized to go through a DM...

Re: Did not do well with CPAP Titration

You have been very generous with your time and experience and I def want to try out all masks; I do not want to reject any. I am working daily on nasal breathing only; haven't progressed to mouth tape yet but I do use a cervical collar at night that at least limits my mouth range, as well as nasal d...

Re: Did not do well with CPAP Titration

That is so interesting, its the opposite of what happened to me that night - he wanted me to use the nasal pillow mask, the first one he brought. I tried it and it was quite hard to exhale; also I'm a mouth breather and was worried I'd wake up constantly trying to breathe. He brought a face mask I t...

Re: Did not do well with CPAP Titration

OMG ARE YOU ME?? I had a tech who was like Lurch in the Adams Family - I called him the Cold Robot! He didn't use humidification and I woke up twice with my mouth all glued together and had THE WORST headache of my life in the morning! I contacted my Sleep NP, told her about the awful headache that ...

Did not do well with CPAP Titration

I was using a full face mask. I slept 5 or 6 hours. But I woke up feeling just awful and with headache - as exhausted as the worst sleep apnea night. I was hoping to wake up so much more refreshed and energetic.
I really hope this doesn't predict a poor response to CPAP once I get one at home!

Re: Some humor

Make my day, this is hilarious and refreshing. You could do stand-up! I am about to get a CPAP and have exactly that level of support. I just emailed my brother, "what's an SD card?"

Please Success Stories

I have been suffering the cumulative exhaustion and physical breakdown of sleep apnea for months and hopefully now within a week or two will have a CPAP machine. I am asking the good people of this forum to please send me their success stories with CPAP. I have been down so long I am losing hope and...

Paralyzed Vocal Cord

I have one paralyzed vocal cord from cancer surgery. It causes me some shortness of breath when I talk and exert- I have to be careful eating and drinking because my airway is partially open all the time. I have been suffering from extreme exhaustion and been diagnosed with sleep apnea. I am wonderi...
