Re: Increased leak rates plus zero AHI=Exhausted

I assume that when you say "headgear" you actually mean the mask, i.e. the part that touches your face. Usually, when we say "headgear" we mean the strap part. Not to be overly pedantic, but what you've described as a "mask" above appears to be the cushion. The CPAP term "mask" generally refers to ...

Re: Thoughts on Maxillomandibular advancement surgery (MMA)?

More medical papers for reference. The takeaway from the first link appears to be that resulting efficacy of the procedure depends greatly on accuracy of the surgical procedure, which of course implies the surgeon's training, skill, and experience etc. Assessment of Surgical Accuracy in Maxillomandi...

Re: Mold in Resmed F20 elbow.

LOL, just replace it already. It's an inexpensive consumable item. If you've got mold there, it's also likely that you also have additional mold cheerfully growing in the tiny inaccessible holes in the exhaust diffuser shown in the background too. (Those little holes that necessarily must remain cle...

Re: Upgrade to ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV?

Short answer: No. Longer answer: Following release of the AirSense 11 CPAP/APAP line in 2021, the AirCurve 11 BiPAP and ASV line was released in 2024. The new 11 series machines utilize an updated and more compact and lighter weight physical form factor than the 10 series machines. The new changes i...

Re: Airsense 11 autoset wireless concerns

You're new device should have arrived with a user manual. If not, you can easily download it online here . It contains useful information, such as: The device is equipped with cellular communication that allows your sleep therapy data to be wirelessly transmitted to your care provider. It also allow...

Re: Healthcare Provider Access

All of the following must be true for a DME or healthcare provider to view your machine data via AirView: The DME or healthcare provider must have an active ResMed account registered and authorized to access ResMed's cloud-based AirView system, and Your ResMed PAP machine must have the cellular mode...

Re: How to test a Climateline heated hose

I didn't intend start a fight, just hoping to help anyone who isn't sure if their hose is OK. Feel free to do better. LOL, who's fighting? I was just pointing out the logical and technical reasons why your hose heater "test" isn't accurate, specific, or conclusive. Instead it simply just informs wh...

Re: How to test a Climateline heated hose

What exactly are you testing for, based on what specific measurements? (I don't mean to appear snarky, but you didn't say.) The test procedure with the multimeter that you described merely verifies that the resistive heating element and temperature-sensing thermistor/thermocouple (also restive in na...

Re: Why does Oscar and SleepHQ hightlight RERA lower than 10 secs?

I thought they just took the RAW data... but.. whichever way, it does seem to be a bit silly to even show it, if its under 10 secs... it doesn't even seem to really mean much...I guess we can over analyse this stuff.. if AHI is under 5, Sp02 over 95% all night and not getting up in the night, with ...

Re: Why does Oscar and SleepHQ hightlight RERA lower than 10 secs?

RERA events are typically defined as lasting longer than 10 seconds, similar to apneas and hypopneas. (A quick internet search for "RERA definition" shows this repeatedly, without notable exception.) Unlike apneas or hypopneas, RERAs are uniquely categorized as OSA-related upper airway breathing dis...

Re: Is an ENT required for machine Rx?

I've replaced my machine 3 times with insurance, twice with corporate and the 3rd with Medicare. A sleep study was required in every time to get insurance coverage. In each case I had years of documented compliance. I think it depends on the insurance policy. Its possible that Medicare would have c...

Re: Very Noisy Full Face CPAP Mask

First, and most obvious, is it adjusted properly? I.e. when air pressure increases during the night does it leak out between his face and the mask? Also, check the hose for leaks, rips, tears etc. Especially if it's of unknown age or if you have pets with claws or teeth. Was his previous mask an Ama...

I was wearing a standard resmed mask There's no such thing. Res med offers at least a dozen different masks. All of them are "standard" for their particular specific features and intended use. any advice for a mask that works? Sure. Go to ResMed's main mask webpage , scroll down to the "Choosing th...
