Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

Thank you, Granny. If you think I am not sleeping well now, you should have seen me before! My AHI was 59 untreated - I am sleeping like a baby now, but still looking to improve. Thank you for helping me.

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

Hello! I am checking back in hoping for some more wise advice. The CPAP has been a great blessing and it is quite comfortable to me now, with one exception: Sometimes after I doze off and the machine ramps up, it wakes me up and I feel a bit aggitated by the pressure. I did make an adjustment, lower...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

I start it lower so I fall asleep before it becomes powerful- so I start it low and let it “ramp up” as I go to sleep. I might be accustomed to it enough now though, so I will give it a try.

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

Ok, I tried "for her" last night, but didn't adjust the pressure minimum, and there was little to no improvement; granted, it was only one night. I didn't want to move too many settings around at once and possibly confuse cause and effect of changes. I may try going back to regular apap vs "for her"...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

Hello again! I have a bit more data recorded, and hope that y'all can take a look at it for me. I have had the minimum pressure on 10 for some time now, and have gotten a good comfortable mask with low leaks. I am quite comfortable going to sleep with the apparatus now, and in fact find it comfortin...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

I have uploaded a few more nights of data, and the results of my therapy keep trending better, and it keeps feeling more and more comfortable. One question: the Sleep HQ app always reports that I am using an f30i mask, and I have to go into the data and change it to the f20 airtouch that I am actual...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

Granny, I was suspect that raising it to 10 might be in the cards. I will give it a try. I cut the EPR back to 2 because I seem to notice pressure when I first start to exhale, then a drop off in pressure, and I find it a little bothersome. I get that is how it works, but it is less pronounced at 2 ...

Re: F30i vs F20

Thanks so much, and and good luck with your CPAP too! I have a card and have been uploading data, and have linked to it in another thread. Thanks to the suggestions here, I have now dropped from 6-11 events/hour with mask down to 1 and 3 the last two nights. I feel really comfortable with the mask t...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

I have implemented the suggestions, and am getting used the pressure now, and feeling quite comfortable. It looks like perhaps I may need to bump the minimum pressure up even slightly more? Please take a look at my Sleep HQ and see if you agree. Also, thanks to your suggestions, the last two nights ...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

Yes Granny, "feeling" is the operative word. By morning, it"feels" normal and feels hard to breath when I turn it off. The first night I put an oxygen meter on my finger to help convince my brain that I was not actually suffocating, and that helped. All of this makes perfect sense; I will move the m...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

I will give your suggestions a try. I think my sleep hygine is decent, but I also agree, my brain is adjusting to the CPAP. The mask does not bother me, but the pressure does give me a bit of a feeling of shortness of breath once I wake up. The pressure (or perhaps the apnea event) will wake me up a...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

That would be outstanding! I've been trying different masks, and the mask data in sleep HQ may not be accurate. However, the 9/29 (most recent) night's data was with the resmed f20 airtouch, medium, and I have found it to give me the best fit, lowest leak rate, and lowest AHI. I am going to stick wi...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

Last night (Monday) I used the new Resmed brand f20 airtouch - it was comfortable, I did not have to strap it as tight, and my leak rate was virtually zero. The knockoff brand I had bought off Amazon fit poorly, and the silicon was so firm I had to strap it tight, to no avail. I also adjusted the pr...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

Thank you for the reply, and suggestion. I am going to leave auto-ramp on, and adjust pressure to 7-15, and try the new Resmed F20 with foam. I should be in for a good night's sleep! With that said, as bad as my charts look, they are much better than before. I am not getting up any to urinate during...

Re: A few newbie questions - with Data!

I will make those changes tonight. The ramp is currently set to "auto." Shoud I change it to a set time, and if so, what do you recommend? I will make the changes tonight, and also wear my new f20 airtouch medium, which arrived today. The f20 med airtouch I had was a knockoff brand, and foam system ...
