Good. I hope he responds.
Yes. He already has. He’s ordered me an oximeter, the one that they require. Then he said that he could get me an oxygen tank until we were able to do the sleep study just knowing this makes me feel better. Thanks again.

Re: Help: I can’t wait until May 16th for my sleep study

Hi. A sincere thank you to everybody who has helped me in this form. You give me the information and the little push that I needed. I used my new oximeter last night and sent the following note to my doctor. Good morning, Dr. Powner. Yesterday I got an oximeter so that I could get a better look at w...

Will you be using Medicare to cover this?

Get a recording oximeter. It will tell you everything you need to know.
The recording oximeter sounds like a really good idea. Anyone in particular?

You should have politely responded:

"Yeah my **** is special too. Gimme the MF HST."
How does one say that politely?

And I’ll be using insurance I reached my deductible already during my visit to the hospital.

Re: Help: I can’t wait until May 16th for my sleep study

Looks like the Ketamine was given about 3 minutes prior to the dosing of the propofol 18:14 vs 18:17 I have no idea if either one of those med (or both of those meds) is the culprit in the big change you have seen Neither do I. They also hooked me up to oxygen after the procedure, but we weren’t ab...

Re: Help: I can’t wait until May 16th for my sleep study

Maybe I was wrong about the sedation that was applied. Does this screenshot indicate that the ketamine given before the propofol? Would that change anything? I wouldn't think so. Ketamine also would not stay in your system very long. A single dose of both those one time would be very unlikely to ha...

Re: Help: I can’t wait until May 16th for my sleep study

No, I don’t mind. It was a shoulder relocation, which is a simple brief procedure. During the procedure, they actually had to stop the propofol and give me ketamine instead. One of the doctors told me later that I had stopped breathing under sedation andrecommended that I see a doctor for sleep. I’...

Re: Help: I can’t wait until May 16th for my sleep study

What do the doctors offer as an explanation for the sudden onset of "sleep disturbance" after the surgical procedure? Propofol should have no lasting effects whatsoever. Possibly changes in how you sleep since the surgery (like positional changes transmitting something different to the watch), or i...

Re: Help: I can’t wait until May 16th for my sleep study

Thanks for the suggestion. I did mention that to my doctor, and he said that they need a very specific kind of sleep test, although he didn’t go into detail as to what kind it was. Based on another post I saw in this board, I’m considering getting a used machine as a spare, until I get my real one t...

Re: Positional OSA with obvious symptoms - buying a PAP without official diagnosis

Thank you both so much for your posts. First to ralph_sc for bringing up a problem similar to mine. And second to Mimollenkamp for the detailed response. I now have the confidence to try and deal with my own problem while I wait for an official diagnosis. I imagine that I won’t need a prescription t...

Help: I can’t wait until May 16th for my sleep study

IMG_7385.jpeg Thanks to my Apple Watch,I have known since December 2024 that I have sleep apnea. On February 8, I was sedated with propofol for a surgical procedure in the hospital. Since then, the number of sleep disturbances have practically tripled. I am exhausted all of the time and stay home d...
