Re: First OSCAR Post here - mild OSA/UARS-type SDB. First night with Bi-Level.
Thanks. I think I agree with you, especially on the positional aspect. It is so strange because I cannot fall asleep on my back. So I sort of assumed that it was not positional apnea until the most recent study. I fell asleep on my back and was sure I stay there the whole night. I did the taped lacr...

Re: First OSCAR Post here - mild OSA/UARS-type SDB. First night with Bi-Level.
Thanks to both. robysue1 - It may be that my breathing is bad during the day and that my machine is simply recording what what it is at night (both being similar). Absolutely. And I agree with obsessing over something, making it worse. I actually gave up on CPAP for awhile, tried it intermittently, ...

Nocibur - Here are both studies. First is in 3 pages while second is just a URL. Snip 1.PNG Snip 2.PNG Snip 3.PNG https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/attachment.php?aid=73596 My sleep doctor is pretty well-regarded. From my appointments with him, it seems he knows his stuff. His thinking was that the ...

Re: First OSCAR Post here - mild OSA/UARS-type SDB. First night with Bi-Level.
Appreciate you looking out for me here. American healthcare :x Yeah, I've talked it through with my doctor and he said that with my private insurance and the savings card, I could get a pretty good price. How do you like it (Belsomra)? Yeah, I've had the full iron panel. Specifically got the ferriti...

Re: First OSCAR Post here - mild OSA/UARS-type SDB. First night with Bi-Level.
haha! yeah, ill fix my profile up after I post this. I definitely understand that my Cymbalta and Silenor can both cause drowsiness - particularly the silenor. I am talking to my doctor about possibly changing to dayvigo, which he likes for sleep maintenance (arousals). I have taken the Cymbalta for...

Re: First OSCAR Post here - mild OSA/UARS-type SDB. First night with Bi-Level.
Nocibur - so you think those actually could be PLMD? To be fair, I should've said the PLMD AROUSALS are being treated well, not necessarily the PLMD. PLMD arousals were .2 per hour while the PLMD index was still around 25 (down from 65 per hour but still high). So thanks for correcting that. Pugsy -...

Re: First OSCAR Post here - mild OSA/UARS-type SDB. First night with Bi-Level.
I thought I just posted a response but it looks to have gone away. So first things first: OSCAR issue is fixed and it has the correct ventilator model showing. So that is good. Nocibur - yeah. I agree and that was the plan. I thought I was buying a Vauto. The person said it was a Vauto and I got a q...

Re: First OSCAR Post here - mild OSA/UARS-type SDB. First night with Bi-Level.
Thanks Pugsy. You will never see a tidal volume graph from me again :D . The asleep vs awake breathing theory makes total sense. I do actually gulp for breaths during the day (nasal breathing is terrible and we are working on that - possibly expansion). That being said, it looks to happen for half o...

Re: First OSCAR Post here - mild OSA/UARS-type SDB. First night with Bi-Level.
Pugsy - understood. I'm taking a look at the Oscar organization page that you generously put together. Seems like flow rate, pressure, leak rate, flow limit and snore are the graphs shown in your example page. That is noted for the future, although I guess I won't be able to do FL or snore so I just...

Re: First OSCAR Post here - mild OSA/UARS-type SDB. First night with Bi-Level.
Nocibur - thanks for taking a look. I was under the impression that the spikes in flow rate are flow limitation. Could definitely be wrong so please correct me.
Ozij- probably will have to do that…thanks.

That being said, last night was my first with Bi-Level. Long story short, I was diagnosed with SDB and was gi...
