Planting the seed

I guess if you had a little"CPAP Tract" you could drop it in the person's lap and never have to wake them up! Seriously, I'd love to hear more stories about how to approach people about getting treatment. I got my brother to get treatment earlier this year and couldn't be happier about it. But, it w...

blowfish

Tom - I use the cpap.com deluxe chinstrap for taking care of the whole blowfish thing. This strap is wide enough to keep my cheeks from blowing out. I use the chinstrap with a NasalAire Freestyle - which is a nose only mask. Maybe it will work for you too.

neti

I use a Neti (8oz) with 1/2 tsp sterile sea salt about 1X/week.
I lean over and pour it in the upper nostril - gravity does the rest.
I've found this works well in the shower - keeps my shirt dry.

cpap life changes

Hi Theo: One of the benefits of CPAP I've enjoyed the most is I'm much more sociable than I used to be. I used to be very reclusive on the weekends. I felt so bad, I didn't want to be around anybody. Now-I'm on the golf course every weekend. I usally play with people I meet at the course. I bet you ...

I just posted my equipment profile. I have a Remstar Plus.
This machine takes a beating with all the traveling I do.
It is built like an old Volvo- not much to look at but it hasn't failed me yet.

Before CPAP, I slept on my side and had to have a really soft mattress. I had back pain all the time and if I ever had to sleep on a hard mattress I'd be completely miserable. Now - I sleep on my back with no pain at all. I could sleep on the floor if I had to. It took about six months of CPAP for m...

I should probably let this thread fade away, but...a few days before my post to this thread, I was going through security at 5:30am with my CPAP. The screener holds my machine up in the air and says, "Boy! You sure have a big CPAP machine!" The thirty people in line behind me became very curious abo...

Chinstraps

I've used the Respironics Deluxe Chinstrap for about a year now. It does a pretty good job keeping my mouth closed. The side straps also suport my cheeks so the air pressure doesn't cause them to blow out. This Deluxe strap has a strap that goes around the back of the head that keeps it in the right...

Hi jnickellrental:
For me, 100% compliance took a couple months - about the same amount of time it takes me to make a permanent change to my golf swing.
