Actually the Hybrid is very good at high pressures because it has less deadspace than other FF masks. The air sits in the oral chamber for a fraction of a second before going into the nasal passages through the pillows, this reduces the sensation of a blast of air...

About 2-3 months back, my DME let me test drive the Liberty to get feedback on whether the Hybrid or Liberty is better. I got the new lower vent flow version of the Hybrid end of March 2007. Since I used the Liberty for only a week but the Hybrid for almost a full year, I can't say that it is an ent...

I've used the Hybrid for over 9 months and the Liberty for a week. My report comparing the two can be found in the last post of the thread below.

Re: Rebreathing
I tried my equipment out for the first time last night. I made it about 4 hours before I was startled awake the the impression that I had been breathing the same air for a while (less oxygen and more carbon dioxide) It felt kind of like the old hyperventilation cure of breathing into a paper bag. I...

I've actually found that the design of the Hybrid, at least for me, actually helps me keep my mouth closed...Something about the location of the straps and the chin thingy, I think. I agree. I find that my mouth doesn't get as dry with the Hybrid as with the UMFF and the ResMed Liberty. I think it ...

Jabberwock- About the "damp/sweaty chin flap": I have not cut off my chin flap because I like the stability that it gives the mask. Maryb Besides the stability that Mary points out, I find that my mouth feels less dry when I wake up compared to the other masks I've tried (UMFF, Liberty). I think it...

I will say, once sealed, the Liberty mask was extremely quiet. Pat has mentioned a newer "Low Flow Vent" version of the Liberty. Not sure if this helps with the noise or not, maybe Pat can chime in on that. I mentioned "lower vent flow" version of the Hybrid, not Liberty. Let me explain. The origin...

They made a business decision to not replace an integral part that was faulty. I made a decision to never again use their products and to bad-mouth their company on boards like this and with fellow OSA patients. Hopefully, I have cost them much more money from potential new customers than the repla...

I think the key to these hybrid FF masks is the relation of your mouth to nose to nare size and shape. I think it is very important not to use the general term "these hybrid FF masks" when talking about the Hybrid (manufactured by Innomed/Respcare) and Liberty (manufactured by Resmed). I have tried...

There seems to be an overhead strap with buckle. That should help pull the pillows up and maintain a good seal. Unless I see the videos, I can't say for sure but it seems like you can route tubing up in front of the face (no tubing on the sides of the face). This should be very comfortable for sides...

One explanation I've heard concerning the Hybrid giving lower AHI readings is that the chin flap of the Hybrid stabilizes the lower jaw, the lower jaw doesn't get pushed back as much as other FF masks when the straps are tightened. The belief is that when the lower jaw gets pushed behind, it actuall...
