As an even easier alternative though, you might ask your physician to prescribe an oximeter for you for a few days. With a physician's prescription, DME's often will provide an oximeter free for a few days. Simply clip the probe on your finger when you go to bed and take it off in the morning. What...

Need help understanding my sleep study results
Hi Everyone, I had another difficult night with the machine - my third night and so to be expected, I guess. I am not scheduled to see the specialist until Oct 3 but am wondering just how much I need this machine. Here are some comments from the report. ...reduced sleep efficiency...good oxygen satu...

Snoregirl: Sorry to hear about the chlorine bomb...how upsetting! Birdshell: thanks for the advice re size. Yes, when all put together it is a lot. Hi Everyone, I had my second night on the machine. This is really a pain as you all know! I have grave doubts about me adapting to this as my sleep is a...

Good luck to you! I have been carreine free for almost 6 years! I weaned off it after realizing that not only was it a true addiction, needed to keep drinking in order to NOT have a headache, it was also a trigger for migraines. Once I was off caffeine, any small slip brought on a major migraine wi...

That seems to be the one but why should I buy a manual for a machine that is only on loan to me especially when it is not the one I expect to end up with? Besides it will take time for it to be sent to me. I still maintain that Vitalaire should provide me with a manual or other instructions. Thanks ...

Thanks so much Snoregirl for your most helpful post. At this point I have paid nothing and have this equipment on loan. I may just shop around and get different stories....try different machines. My friend who is a doctor told me of a small companiy here in London that gave him excellent service. I ...

Oldgearhead: I stated in my opening sentence what machine and mask I was using. I have not filled out the profile as this may be temporary...I will likely end up with a different machine and mask. I would love to read the instructions but they did not give me a booklet to do so. I looked at the ResM...

Newbie - feeling miffed!
HI again, I had my first night with a machine using the ResMed S7 that is on loan. Also used the Standard Mirage mask. I am miffed because the technician at Vitalaire really did not give me enough basics yesterday. She did fit the mask and set the machine but did not have me turn it on and off or pu...

I did not have any strong reasons for wanting Remstar except that my brother in law has that one as does a friend who is a doctor. Vitaliare seems to favor ResMed and told me that the S8 is the smallest unit and has built in dual power systems for when I travel to Europe. they also tried to persuade...

Got a machine at last
Hi Everyone, Well, today was the day that I finally got my CPAP machine. I had to wait as I was away at the cottage and then had guests - not a good time to struggle through some sleepless nights. I fully intended to get a Remstar but was talked into ResMed by Vitalaire. I have a loaner for a 2-3 we...
