ResMed Cleanable Water Tank
Hey Guys, im waiting for this new cleanable water tank to arrive. I’ve heard you can use regular water in it, is this true? I was hoping i can use my RO water in it. My RO water does have a re-mineralization filter but when measured as in a glass of water it’s still only 20-30PPM. Other than that, i...

Still trouble with intense exercise
Hey guys I was basically an athlete before sleep apnea brought me to my knees, it was so bad even basic walks would leave me exhausted. At any rate, things have vastly improved but I still can't get my heart rate much past 130 when weight training otherwise im pretty much guaranteed insomnia and fee...

Re: Airsense 10 cutting in and out
There is a weird thing I noticed that if you bump the power cord where it plugs into the machine, it will turn off. That is likely your problem. I would push that all the way in. Yes it’s pushed in all the way, it maybe seems like the barrel connector inside the machine is loose or worn out. This m...

Re: Airsense 10 cutting in and out
The memory card and Oscar both work in my 11, thus I know it’s a problem with the machine.

Airsense 10 cutting in and out
Hey Guys, im troubleshooting an issue with my grandfathers Airsense 10. The machine is cutting in out in OSCAR, he's 86 years years old and completely useless as far as technology or anything technical. Without putting a camera in his room while he sleeps, i don't have a reliable way to tell what's ...

Re: New to Oscar - hoping someone can help analyze my data
thank you! curious if you see anything abnormal about my data / that could be causing waking up a lot? Waking up frequently on CPAP is normal until you get used to it. Im about 6 weeks in and I sleep much better because im starting to sleep for longer stretches throughout the night. I too had sleep...

Re: Still dealing with Sinus Congestion
Just wanted to update everyone that my congestion has improved with humidity level 1, so im happy about that. Its also nice, because I dont have the fill the water tank every night. Auto was just too high and made the congestion worse, so too high humidity can be just as bad as not enough. That said...

Re: Still dealing with Sinus Congestion
It is entirely possible that you are one of the people who find that too much humidity is as bad as too little humidity. It is just the way you are and that's all it means. Everybody has their own personal needs and nothing wrong with it. Look on the bright side which is you may not need to refill ...

Re: Still dealing with Sinus Congestion
Continue as is and see if you create a trend or if last night's results was a one off thing We just want you sleeping well without congestion messing things up no matter how you accomplish it. That’s fair, I’ll stick with the lower humidity and see what happens. I tested your theory during a hot sh...

Re: Still dealing with Sinus Congestion
So I reduced the humidity to 1 and set the hose temp to 20. While noticeably drier, it was much better for congestion. I guess the high heat and humidity is irritating my mucous membranes. I suspect I also have a deviated septum causing the extra mucous to build up. At any rate the much lower humidi...

Re: Still dealing with Sinus Congestion
Hose air temp is just for comfort (how it feels in general) and condensation prevention. Humidity setting itself isn't varied with hose air temp. If you drop the hose air temp too much you will likely get water form in the mask and/or hose. Google "cpap rhinitis".....I seriously doubt that the humi...

Re: Still dealing with Sinus Congestion
Do you happen to own a hygrometer? Where you live does it rain a lot or fairly dry most of the time? I do, we have very dry winters and humid summers though I have a humidifier hooked up to my furnace. Right now it's 46% in the house. I just read the tube temperature on auto is 27c in the resmed ma...

Re: Still dealing with Sinus Congestion
A setting of 1 for humidity is about as low as you can go....so I doubt it is too much. Humidity (either too much or too little) can make nasal congestion worse and we don't know what your nasal mucosa wants or needs. I need a humidity setting of 8 (which is the max available) or I get some rather ...

Re: Still dealing with Sinus Congestion
What humidity setting are you using? Does a hot steamy shower help relieve the congestion some or make it worse? Im honestly not sure about the shower, I think it generally helps but hard to say as I dont usually have sinus issues until I lay down. I've tried elevating the bed 6 inches but it doesn...
