When you turn it off and on in the middle of the night and it starts lower it may be doing 'ramp' mode. You can turn that off or shorten the period.
Ramp is frequently set for new users so they can adjust to the cpap easier. I think most experienced users turn it off after not very long.

Re: Wrong Usage Time
I got the Clinical manual, really interesting info. Do you have yours setup for SmartStart? No, I dislike smart start because it also implies smart stop. I just push the button on and push it again when I want it off. The wind blowing is noisy enough to disturb my wife. Besides I have it where if s...

Re: Urgent ResMed filter question
The filter pugsly posted is exactly the same as the ones I have - no stray fibers. For my morning routine - once I turn the machine off I dump any excess water into the plant next to the bed then put the tub back in until the hose dry cycle completes in 30 minutes. Once that is done I just set the t...

Re: Motor Life Exceeded
I'll have to wait on insurance to get a new one.... the ASV machines are INSANE - $3500 - if you can find them at all. The stupid part is how little difference there is... a little square of plastic that slides into the slot in the case that says ASV on it and firmware... Insurance is supposed to pr...

Re: Wrong Usage Time
There is a lot more in the manual than just the access method. There is a titration example with settings and explanations for everything. It is worth reading

Re: Wrong Usage Time
It changes the EPAP from a single number to a range. It allows the machine to take your minute vent and adjust verse just adjusting the pressure support. For me at least it it dropped my AHI at least 10 points.

Re: Wrong Usage Time
The ASV can take a bit to get used to. I've been using mine every night for almost a year now and probably 9 out of 10 nights I sleep like a log for 10 hours straight. The settings I was originally given were totally out to lunch. Do you want to share yours? Did they set to AutoASV mode of just ASV?...

Re: Motor Life Exceeded
I hear you - the only reason to send it in is if something else isn't working - like the humidifer heater, the heated tubing ring is broke, or any one of a dozen sensors in the unit. The motors off amazon are certainly an option and like you say, just over $100. The typical repair/replace motor, cle...

Re: Urgent ResMed filter question
If your filters are coming apart they are not the genuine article. Either the regular or the hypoallergenic filters are made from a spun poly fiber, they can't come apart. A lot of the fakes/aftermarket are made from a paper/cloth fiber composite that can and does come apart a bit. Do your replaceme...
