Re: Higher AHI

Question: as stated, my AHI with the Total mask is a .5 - .7, but with the regular full face, the AHI is a 1-1.2. It could be twice as high as the Total. Do you folks think this is acceptable? I have a way to wear the Total, but it is a pain in the butt. Regardless of what the doctors say, the AHI ...

Re: Snoring help

Perhaps your sleep doctor/professional can recommend a better fitting mask.

Re: Husband says CPAP is scary and unattractive...

Sorry you are going through this. So he wants to you sleep with him without the machine .. is he willing to deal with the snoring? and perhaps your heath? I would be making that other bedroom into a room for you, claim the space not as a place to sleep but as yours. Make it warm and inviting for you.

Re: Updated to included Sleepyhead and Oscar data After knee surgery, recommended to sleep on back AHI high

My AHI numbers have dropped way down since I am now able to side sleep after knee surgery. I did switch to APAP and noticed my maximum pressure has gone up a bit, will leave it as it right now, till I'm able to check in with my supplier. I really appreciate the help I received. I'll leave the images...

Re: Attachment storage is at capacity....EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS STICKY ABOUT ATTACHMENTS

Thanks for the hints to use an external server. Used my personal server to host my images and it seems to work just fine. I'll leave them up a week or so and then delete to save my own storage.

Re: OSCAR v1.5.1 released - September 23, 2023

Added Oscar to my Macbook Air, don't see a huge difference to Sleepyhead. I think I did read that Sleepyhead wasn't having any more updates, can someone confirm this. Thanks. If so will delete it and stick with Oscar.

Re: Updated to included Sleepyhead and Oscar data After knee surgery, recommended to sleep on back AHI high

Given what you've told us, and this image, if your pressure was set to fixed 11, and your AHI has shot up, then the minimum APAP pressure should be 11. the image shows that you're getting many obstructive events at pressures lower than 11. When I agreed that changing to APAP for a while might help,...

Re: Updated to included Sleepyhead and Oscar data After knee surgery, recommended to sleep on back AHI high

I may be misreading your chart, but it seems to say at the lower left that you are using ramp for 10 minutes. No biggie, tho. With an EPR of 3, which basically lowers EPAP (breathe-out pressure, which is key to apnea-prevention) by 3 cm, you may need to set overall minimum pressure higher than 9. Y...

Re: Updated to included Sleepyhead and Oscar data After knee surgery, recommended to sleep on back AHI high

Setting the minimum to 9 or above may (or may not, but it's worth a try to) help that AHI. Personally, I don't use ramp, since I am more comfortable without it and since the consistency in pressure allows me to keep irritating leak lower, myself. Others need ramp for comfort reasons. Most of us cho...

Re: Updated to included Sleepyhead and Oscar data After knee surgery, recommended to sleep on back AHI high

Still figuring out what screenshots to post from Oscar. Will keep working at it. I think the high AHI numbers are because I'm not sleeping in my usual position. Pain from surgery has diminished, what I get most now is discomfort from being in the same position on my back and the need to move my leg ...

Re: After knee surgery, need to sleep on back

Without seeing details, and if it were my therapy, my stab in the dark would be maybe to put it in APAP mode and to set the minimum pressure to 9 or so, depending on comfort, and the maximum to 20. Then I would see how that went to tweak from there. But if you are able to post some nights of OSCAR ...

Re: After knee surgery, need to sleep on back

You selected an APAP in your profile. Is it being run in APAP mode or CPAP mode? Many of us are comfortable taking control of our own therapy and choosing APAP mode and tweaking the minimum treatment pressure, if there is no reason we shouldn't. And we leave maximum at 20 to allow the machine to ra...

Trying a screen shot from Sleepyhead, Macbook Air

The top part of the image is the AHI with up and down numbers from Nov 17 to Dec 19
