Re: Confused regarding Mask/Tubing/Humidifier Tub Cleaner

Thank you everybody for the replies! I really do appreciate everybody's advice :) . What we ended up doing was soaking the humidifier tub in a 1:3 white vinegar/water bath for approx. 30 mins, then rinsed it out with water and gave it a wipe out with a microfibre cloth. I had a chat to a different l...

Re: Confused regarding Mask/Tubing/Humidifier Tub Cleaner

Serratia marcescens is floating in the room air but needs minerals to feed on. The minerals come from using or even rinsing with tap water. It is not necessary to wipe or otherwise dry the *water* tub or hose both will get wet again with use. I never dry mine. Take a look at the overflow hole in th...

Re: Confused regarding Mask/Tubing/Humidifier Tub Cleaner

Thank you for the reply, I'm not sure specifically what it is, but i noticed some darkish areas around the edges inside the humidifier tub and swabbed them with a cotton q-tip, some of them were black looking on the q-tip and some were pink... (I read somewhere that the pink looking stuff may be bac...

Re: Confused regarding Mask/Tubing/Humidifier Tub Cleaner

Thank you all for the replies :) I noticed today that the humidifier tub in my mother's machine has started to develop a pink looking mold, so I am going to take the advice of people here and switch to a white vinegar/water mix for weekly cleaning instead of the soap i was using. Does anybody know i...

Re: ResMed Filter Question

i think they might be pieces of the filter breaking off, there are also fibres from the filter sticking through the grill of the filter doorway, so I want to replace the filter to be safe. I'm thinking you have the filter in backwards. When you get new filters, note the two sides are different and ...

Re: ResMed Filter Question

I don't see the ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP ST machine listed on any of the filters, is it able to use the filters meant for the ResMed S9 and Airsense 10 CPAP machines? Yes. If the Lumas has the body style of the S9 models or the AirSense 10 models then those filters will work I haven't seen an AirSense...

ResMed Filter Question

Hi all :) , My mother is now using a ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP ST machine and I am looking to buy a new filter for it. I have noticed some white fibres appearing in the humidifier tub after use and they are too big to go through the filter so i think they might be pieces of the filter breaking off, ther...

Confused regarding Mask/Tubing/Humidifier Tub Cleaner

Hi there, Apologies for possibly yet another stupid question (I am full of them  ), but I was hoping somebody may be able to clarify something for me. My mother is using a ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP ST machine and we have been cleaning the mask, tubing & humidifier tub once per week using Sunlight ...

Re: Resmed water chamber issues

What is the general consensus for washing the humidifier trays? We lightly rinse my mothers ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP ST humidifier tray about once every week in soapy water, but sometimes it is every 2 weeks, along with the hoses and mask (mask gets a daily wipe though with ResMed mask wipes). Soapy w...

Re: Sticky: Distilled Water vs. bottled water vs tap water

Hi all, My father and I have been using a home distilling machine that we purchased online to distil water for my mother's bipap machine (a ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP ST). The distilling machine we purchased uses carbon filters as part of the process, does anybody know which part of the distilling proces...

Re: ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP ST Questions

From a quick Google search I believe this is to allow the humidifier to cool down, can anybody confirm this? Consider it confirmed. That is indeed what the cool down period does and it lasts about 30 minutes and then the machine will totally shut off. Sorry but I don't know enough about the ST mode...

ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP ST Questions

Hi there, Apologies for creating yet another thread but I just had a couple of questions regarding the ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP ST if possible. Quick back story for those that don't know: My mother has recently starting using the ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP ST (1 week ago) after moving from a Philips Dreamst...

Re: Continued use of recalled Philips Dreamstation BiPAP AVAPS machine

PS stands for Pressure Support. Her Exhale Positive Air Pressure is 8. Her PS, the additional pressure she needs to make sure she inhales properly is 10. EPAP + PS is IPAP. Pressure support. That means the pressure doesn't dip below it when keeping the airway open. Ah I understand now, so when brea...

Re: Continued use of recalled Philips Dreamstation BiPAP AVAPS machine

Thank you again robbob2112 :). Just a quick question if anybody can help, this is a picture of my mother's screen whilst the machine is running, does anybody know what the "PS 10" means on the display? Her pressures are currently set at 18 IPAP and 8 EPAP but I am unsure what the PS10 means (picture...
