Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Here's a YT video from PBS NewsHour about Philips' malfeasance. I hadn't known (but am not at all surprised) that the US FDA did nothing while all these reports flooded in.

Re: Newbie Tired, Frustrated and Want to Give Up Before Even Starting

defy, what would really help us help you is if you could please post some OSCAR data. I understand the resentment, I suppose, about using a medical device for the rest of your life, but if you start getting better or even the best sleep you can easily remember, ain't that worth it? I know for a pure...

Re: Curious...How many of you are running APAP vs. Constant Pressure?

I'm running APAP from 9-13 cms and it's been working out really well for me. Not sure if 9-13 counts as a "tightened-up" range. I ran without EPR for the first night and it was disastrous.

Re: Journeyman CPAP user sleep regression

Hi LSUJonno, OSCAR really is The Way. It's open-source freeware that interfaces directly with your machine (via an inexpensive SD memory card and reader) and lets YOU self-diagnose (with the help of many people here in this community with untold experience) your particular issues and then lets YOU a...

Re: CPAP Struggles: Seeking Answers for Restful Sleep!

Starting can be so hard. We have all been there. Identify WHY you stop each night, and work on that. Aim for a little more time each night, never less. So much this. A month ago today I started my therapy. I was getting about 2.5 hours of sleep with the CPAP. Then it went to 3.5-4 hours. Then 5 hou...

Re: A ClimateLine Air Message Pops up every time I hold my tube before usage

I really wish that you would stop with this bullshit. I unplug my hose EVERYDAY and have done so for over 12 years. I soak my hose EVERY WEEK in a vinegar solution, and I have YET to wear anything out or break anything. ANYTHING. For all those who do not know, when you plug a ClimateLine heated tub...

Being given an old replacement machine, guarantees that I'll never buy another Phillips machine again!
i don't see much hope of the cpap division of philips surviving after this ridiculous cluster ^&$%.
Let's us hope that they do not survive. What they've done is unconscionable.

Re: A ClimateLine Air Message Pops up every time I hold my tube before usage

[/quote] Hi Jimmy, First, Thank you for being the only one not to condescend Me. Prior to changing the hose, the therapist noticed that there was a small tear on the tube end that connected to the machine. Thus this was causing the tube with smart start to trigger the machine to always have leakage ...

Re: A ClimateLine Air Message Pops up every time I hold my tube before usage

This reminds me of the blonde who told the doc, "When I press hard here, it hurts." The doc said, "The cure is to quit pressing hard there." Why the hell are you vigorously shaking the hose next to the machine, even tapping the hose against the machine a couple of times? No one is tapping the hose ...

Re: A ClimateLine Air Message Pops up every time I hold my tube before usage

My machine throws the same message when I attach my ClimateLine heated hose. I don't do that weird shaking/tapping action that you perform, however.

I'm 99.948% certain that it is normal and that no "malware" has infected your machine.

My recommended action is to attach your mask and sleep as usual.

Re: Mask/Tubing storage during the day

Our dog left her puppy days behind about 15 years ago, but that doesn't stop her from getting into things she shouldn't. My lady friend works for a medical company, and when they moved offices back at the start of COVID, they had an extra IV tree they weren't going to be taking with them for the mov...

Re: Denture Adhesive Strips v. Mouth Tape

I'm going to try 3M Micropore tape for my mouth-breathing issues. I used this tape for dressing a diabetic foot ulcer for about 8 months and it was far and away the best dressing tape I'd found. It's a paper tape that adheres well but peels off without doing damage to your skin, if done correctly. L...
