Re: First night with new ASV (AirCurve 10 ASV)
The sleep technician couldn't explain what the doctor had done, and agreed to adjust the settings a bit. That's good. I mean it's good she agreed to change. I'm curious: Did you sense any surprise on her side? Do you think she will go back to him to ask why? Did she record the changes she made (and...

Re: First night with new ASV (AirCurve 10 ASV)
are the two pressures additive; that is - if max EPAP is 15, and max PS is 15, does that mean I could be experiencing a max total pressure of 30? ... Yes, the two pressures are additive. IPAP (inhalation positive air pressure, aka "Pressure" in the OSCAR report) Is the result of EPAP (exhalation po...

Re: First night with new ASV (AirCurve 10 ASV)
What would 'non-ASV' translate to - changing the mode of the machine? And you are suggesting raising the minimum EPAP? I would go with the technician's settings, not the doc's. I would do that because it's the technician who saw my responses to various pressure, and the doctor's script totally igno...

Re: First night with new ASV (AirCurve 10 ASV)
... It looks to me as if your machine is at default, or almost default setting. Min EPAP 4, max IPAP 30 max PS15? Those are indeed the settings; I don't know if they are default or not; they are supposedly what the sleep study technician recommended. I just re-read the sleep study report. The techn...

Re: First night with new ASV (AirCurve 10 ASV)
why aren't there more CAs reported in the UA flag row? Best I can tell you is that the machine is reacting pre-emptively and not letting the cessation of breathing to get to the point where it meets criteria for a central apnea. The algorithm is complicated and I will be honest in that I don't unde...

Re: First night with new ASV (AirCurve 10 ASV)
If you ever see a flag in the official OA line on that event graph please let me know. I expect to see something in the UA line and the hyponea line. So......how are you sleeping in general and how are you feeling? Well, I have been sleeping badly for a very long time, and almost never wake refresh...

Re: First night with new ASV (AirCurve 10 ASV)
Sorry....I forgot to add the "unclassified" part to the apnea part. My mind isn't all here. Obstructive apneas and central apneas go in the same apnea basket...the unclassified category. ASV machines don't seem to do the FOT thing to figure out central vs obstructive so that's why it's called "uncl...

Re: First night with new ASV (AirCurve 10 ASV)
there are no Clear Airway (Centrals) or CSR events noted - though there doesn't even seem to be a 'slot' for such events with this machine. The ASV machine won't/can't flag any central apneas separately so you won't ever see any central apneas flagged separately. OAs and central apneas will go unde...

Re: Choosing a mask
I think I was the only customer in the building on Friday afternoon before Christmas. We had josh's attention for just over an hour. I do believe it was the N20 we were offered and you are correct in your description. The big difference between the N20 and the Dream Wisp is the hose connection on t...

Re: First night with new ASV (AirCurve 10 ASV)
Can you elaborate on this? My Oscar report shows "Mode: ASVAuto". On the device itself, in the menu, it offers Modes of 'CPAP', 'ASV', 'ASVAuto'. Is that the setting you are referring to, and you you have any idea what the difference is?
Thanks!

First night with new ASV (AirCurve 10 ASV)
Last night I had my first full night with my newly issued RESMED AirCurve 10 ASV machine. I didn't get a great night's sleep, but this was my first night with a mask / device for months, so there was unfamiliarity at play here. I loaded the data into OSCAR, and observed that the information looked q...

Re: Choosing a mask
Well, we are home from our visit to Crapria. They were true to form. They brought us into their conference room offered us a seat and slid a nice Resmed travel case across the table and told us it is all programed and ready to go. I said I'll just open it up and take look. Surprise, SURPRISE, it wa...

Re: Choosing a mask
We are about to head to my "favorite DME, Crapria" to pick up my wife's first APAP and mask. I have already determined it will be an Airsense 10 Auto with heated tube. Crapria informed me they no longer allow patients to actually try on a mask before the select it. They measure your face for size, ...

Re: Choosing a mask
I've had several calls, and several hours of listening to on-hold muzak, with Kaiser and Apria. I have had such amazingly contradictory information it's quite funny. Since I'm really in no hurry to get the machine (after a lifetime of poor sleep, what's a few more days ...) I'm just going to keep p...
