Re: Woke Up Gasping

As Pugsy noted, you don't get FL data with the S. I can see flat-topping on your breaths, you probably need to go up in pressure some more. You're still getting CA's... keep working that pressure up. Zoom into Breathing at 10:45:40 to :50, see the flat tops? Those are FL's. Bi-level is meant to pun...

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Thanks Pugsy! Good to know. I actually have a Resmed Aircurve 10S not an auto despite my tag line. I couldn't find a plain 10S on the equipment drop down when I registered.

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Just a FYI. Troubling shooting the odd data that SleepHQ reported, I downloaded the SD card to the SleepHQ site from my PC instead of from my iPhone and the anomalies went away. But also just now seeing that there is no flow limit data from the Resmed 10S. The Resmed 11 did report that data. Does an...

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Notwithstanding the weird stuff that happened around 11pm, I think it's again slightly improved. Periodic breathing is definitely better https://sleephq.com/public/59a810fd-7d6d-4e1a-891a-edc7f1a2531d. Regarding the weird stuff around 11pm in SleepHQ, OSCAR does not show the same anomalies. I clippe...

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Well, interesting night. I increased both IPAP and EPAP by 1cm and decreased humidity to level 6. Rain-out was mostly resolved but minor leaks were bothersome all night. Gross parameters didn't change much, but waveform tops looked smooth and exhalation support looked better. Most remarkable to me w...

Re: Woke Up Gasping

I moved back to the old machine, the Resmed Aircurve 10S and kept the old settings of IPAP=11, EPAP=9 and had an OK night. Of note, I had a very stuffy nose and a significant amount of rainout. Here's the SleepHQ data https://sleephq.com/public/df133944-f363-4944-825a-80debe89b14b with the Apple Wat...

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Thanks all, The old unit is the Aircurve 10s with last best settings of CM=11 PS=9. Good to know concerning rehabbing the old unit with a new motor. That's some insane pumping... I can't see any way to get that kind of response out of an APAP limited to EPR3. I have an Aircurve 10 vAuto but I only ...

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Sure. Unless there is a significant leak , the volume of air inspired should be close to that of the volume expired. In your beginning three breaths of your original post the volume of air exchanged between 21:04:36 and 21:04:40 is fairly equal between Inspiration and expiration. ( the area under t...

I've been down a rabbit hole today on the topic of palatial prolapse. Thanks all for the observations. Fascinating in my case and seems to fit the bala...

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Yes, the gap is when I took off the mask to catch my breath. Not a great feeling for sure. The move to a Resmed 11 APAP from the 10 BiPap is the outcome with yet another sleep study, new Doc and her insistence that I needed an Auto machine and could not justify a Bi-Pap cost because the study showed...

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Thanks vandownbytheriver and sorry for the frustration. I'm a bit new to the the forum. Very much appreciate the help. I determined Ctrl-A isn't working on my PC for some reason and as I have SleepHQ I thought I'd attach the link here: https://sleephq.com/public/1aae1727-cfa9-4323-a83d-4fea808c6561 ...

Re: Woke Up Gasping

Thanks everyone for the help. I've attached the Full Oscar page zoomed in on the events in question. I did not get a SpO2 reading for this particular night. I have EPR set to 2 on CPAP mode and pretty sure I was on my back. I don't think the exhaust ports were blocked but I guess I could have been o...

Woke Up Gasping

Hi All, First post for me. Need some help with a wake-up last night urgently pulling off my F20 and gasping. I tape my mouth so was breathing heavily through my nose and was able to recover without removing the tape. I spent about a minute catching my normal breathing before replacing the mask and g...
