Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
is it supposed to be this "tight" around nostril? No. Masks aren't designed to fit tightly. There is a sweet spot between too loose and tight. You might try watching some fitting and adjusting videos on YouTube.com. Find videos on your exact model. Sorry if this has already been covered, have you h...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
Would switching to the CPAP mode benefit me? We have no way to know if it would help or not but it is sure worth trying. Lots of people actually prefer (and use) fixed mode for any number of reasons and that's okay. IMHO....you should use and/or try ANYTHING that helps you get to sleep and stay asl...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
Hello, I wanted to ask there if there was any harm in making the APAP to CPAP mode for a few days? Sleeping with the machine is very hard and borderline impossible due to the fact that pressure keep going up/and down even with the ramp on/off. Like 1 min it goes from 4 to 5, the next it increase, th...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
It might help you to know that it's completely normal to wake up multiple times during the night. You may or may not remember these awakenings. People often wake up after a period of REM sleep, and the timing of your wake-ups suggests that this may be what you're experiencing. The problem isn't the...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
Good morning Just tested the minimum 6cm pressure setting and the graphic looks much better: 6 rera only, no hypopnea/apnea! Here are the results: https://imgur.com/a/g6emX8X Slept from 2h50 to 3h30 (first part was testing don't take it in account), woke up for 1 min for some reason and went back to...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
Interesting! Your body needs to learn some new habits, and if you keep using the machine during the day or evening, you'll help it a lot. So keep doing that. I have the suspicion that if you keep at it, you'll stop feeling those sensations of dizziness and pressure. Yes, lots of people breathe easi...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
Hello I tried the CPAP machine while awake for a good 1h30 yesterday and some things i noted: Pressure goes to 6 after 20 min then 8 and stay there. Its actually easier to breathe at 6-8 than at 4 and i didn't notice leaks. I didn't felt dizzy or anything at all, definitively not the same sensation ...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
I'll suggest again that you try using the machine during the day or evening to get used to it. I'd be curious whether you'd get the dizziness feeling with day/evening use. Ok i will try it for 1-2h. Wanted to menntion in case OSCAR doesn't show it, but the cpap comes with a humidifier, setting "3" ...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
i don't know what obstruction level means too, if its about a clogged nose or something Apparently, you don't feel like your nose is congested. I would really like to know what the obstruction level is reporting. Other data in your reports indicates you breathed steadily and easily. Why did you rem...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
I have 32 teeth yep Are they straight? Overcrowded? Have you had orthodontic appliances? I will think about your CPAP problems to see if I can find some other good suggestions. There are some members who know a good bit about desensitizing one's self to the mask and process. Maybe some of them can ...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
because my home study came negative BUT it had 80% side sleeping so i suspect worsen ahi with the back It's typically the case that OSA is worse when sleeping on the back as compared to sleeping on the sides or stomach. On the back, gravity is directly pulling the tongue and soft palate into the ai...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
Many people tape their mouths. The two risk factors are very, very small: vomiting before you can get the tape off, and suffocation from sleeping through a power outage. I have never woken up vomiting, so I just don't care about that risk factor. I use a circuit alarm on the circuit for my machine;...

Re: Can't sleep long with CPAP
Do you have a sleep doctor you can talk to in person? Yes but the appointement is in a while, i'm just trying to figure it out, right now i'm more tired than without the mask because of the "wake up after 1h and then unable to sleep back with mask" thing Im' thinking of two possibilities: mask forc...
