Re: New to Dreamstation - changes in settings

Thanks to all of you, I will read that and try the A-Flex and various numbers if I find time. At the moment the settings are working well. I just tried to adapt to the settings the old machine had. I have suddenly had a lot of things to sort out that have nothing to do with CPAP so I have concentrat...

Here are the latest, from Oscar - I would be very grateful if anyone tells me where I've gone wrong. I did sleep much better.

Re: New to Dreamstation - changes in settings

@palerider As I said, it was good that Sleepyhead showed me both the old and the new machine and highlighted the changes. I knew it was out of date, I didn't know about Oscar, and I am glad I have not upgraded yet - of course I will.

I put two screenshots up here in case it's of any interest. I think I changed the minimum pressure to 7 and the flex to C-Flex 3. Should be OK now.

Re: New to Dreamstation - changes in settings

@Dog Slobber Thanks very much, I will look into it. I would however like to say that if I had not used Sleepyhead, I would not have got the clear information on the differences between the two machines, highlighted. I was surprised to see it and it was very useful to me. If I had started OSCAR with ...

Re: New to Dreamstation - changes in settings

Btw I worry about people who cannot access forums.
If as zonker implies I need not have entered my name and address, I could probably delete them or at least use pseudonyms.

Re: New to Dreamstation - changes in settings

Hi, is Oscar only Windows? I use Mac for Sleepyhead. I do actually have Windows under Parallels though. I don't understand how I use paper slips if I'm doing a screenshot, but perhaps I should be photographing the screen with my iphone? then I could cut the address off. I suppose my name and address...

Re: New to Dreamstation - changes in settings

@zonker I saw the beginning of that but it still doesn't tell me how to remove my name and address from the screenshot. As most of the report is unchanged and OK and the two changed settings are indicated by Sleepyhead and I already described them, I will leave it for now. I really did feel breathin...

Re: New to Dreamstation - changes in settings

Thanks, dog slobber. I did have the pressure starting at 8 but it is telling me that my average pressure is sometimes 8 (at least on the basis of 3 days' use). So I will try setting it at 7. And the other setting I will change too. I really did feel as though I was suffocating, although I had remove...

Re: New to Dreamstation - changes in settings

I have now looked at the info for new members (I am not a new member but I don't come often and my password didn't work). I should have stuck to one thread for both my questions. And I think I have taken two screenshots. I couldn't work out how to remove my personal details so I've deleted them. Sho...

Re: New to Dreamstation - changes in settings

You mean a screenshot of the report? I have read that attachments are not encouraged in the forum at the moment.
I described the important data: now "Pressure relief: none", previously "C-Flex + x3".

New to Dreamstation - changes in settings

With the help of this forum I managed to turn the ramp on my new Dreamstation machine to zero. However, I still felt it was uncomfortable to breathe last night. The former machine was Respironics System One. I have read the card in Sleepyhead. I very rarely do this, but when I am seeing a doctor I t...

Re: Philips Dreamstation turn off ramp

OK, thanks very much to both of you. I just feel insecure when I'm using the settings I'm not supposed to. The guide starts with the words "IMPORTANT: Remove this guide before giving the device to the patient." So it'll be OK now, logically. I have only used it once and I feel a bit as though I'm su...

Re: How do I turn off the ramp for my Philips DreamStation Auto CPAP?

I saw this thread earlier but I do not understand how to turn the ramp off, even though I have the provider manual, so in fact I started a new topic but my message has not yet been approved - I just wanted to make it clear that I did find this topic before I posted.
