Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

Anyone have any suggestions regarding how to prevent/reduce aerophagia while sleeping on sides? It is currently my main problem with using the machine. If I'm on my back, no aerophagia, but if I'm on either side (my preferred sleeping positions) I end up blowing air out both ends in the morning & it...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

To try to alleviate the aerophagia while side-sleeping, I lowered my max pressure last night from 10 to 9. Unfortunately, it didn't help. At 00:22 I rolled over onto my right side and at about 1:10 had to sit up and burp. Then switched to sleeping on my left side and about 15 minutes after that had ...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

I've been doing my best to keep up with therapy and have had a few good nights in terms of numbers, but am not feeling any less tired in general. Haven't changed any settings in weeks. A couple weeks ago I had a first follow-up with the sleep Dr. and he was happy with my progress & compliance. He wa...

Re: Cat has destroyed my hoses!

My little darling Aslan is also a hose attacker and biter, though not as persistent as your kitty! Keeping him out of the bedroom at night is also absolutely not an option, so I feel your pain. :D Maybe something like this would work? It comes in many different diameters and lengths, and can be cut ...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

Based on my experience, I think the Nuance & Nuance Pro Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask with Gel Nasal Pillows are much better than the P10. They have extremely soft cannulae that don't irritate the lining of my nose. When I used the P10, I had similar problems. + the Nuance & Nuance Pro Nasal Pillow CPAP M...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

More pressure is likely to make the aerophagia worse but IMHO you don't need more pressure anyway. More pressure won't fix/reduce the number of centrals. While your FL graph is a little active it is far from horrible. Did you happen to have some nasal congestion on the above night that we might cou...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

Leave your humidity at 3 for now. Limit the max to 10 and let's see what happens in terms of therapy and aerophagia prevention. Try to not make more than one change at a time when you go changing stuff. When you make more than one change we don't know which change might have to contributed to what ...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

Did you happen to have very much nasal congestion last night? I didn't really have much of any as far as I can tell. When I put the ports on, there was no congestion at all. I did notice when I took the Bleep off, my left nostril was a little congested, but the right one was completely open. Genera...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

I only lasted with the N30 for 2 nights. Friday night, looking at the results, you'd think it was a good night with an AHI of 1.14, kept it on for 7+ hours and a low leak rate. But there were constant small leaks throughout the night, especially when I turned on my sides, and every single little lea...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

The N30 arrived & I've used it for the last 2 nights. It is MUCH better on the nose for me and the problem spots on the skin/scar under my nose are healing. Both nights I only managed to keep the mask on for a little over 4 hours as I was extremely stressed out, both from work and from this new thin...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

I looked at all your "centrals" up close.....maybe one asleep central and that's a shaky/iffy maybe at that. The rest of them were all so blatantly awake/arousal related a blind person could see it. Thank you SO much for taking your time to help me Pugsy and look at all that information in detail o...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

Do you know how to load your data into SleepHQ? In SleepHQ we can zoom in on events and figure out if those centrals are asleep centrals or arousal/awake centrals. Thank you SO much Pugsy! I do now! :) https://sleephq.com/public/f969eb12-7496-45c3-9a15-121bc2a61e3e I suspect that the bulk of your c...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

Thank you so much Pugsy! That explanation of CAs is super interesting and really clarifies what is going on. Turning off EPR last night didn't work very well - I just could't get to sleep without it. The pressure kept going up (mildly) with it on and seemed to cause some mild aerophagia. I turned EP...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

There is so much to learn about this. Thank you all for the details and interesting discussion! Last night I used the cpap 6.5 hours compared to 7 hours the night before. To try to reduce the CAs I lowered the EPR to 1 as suggested, and my AHI was nearly the same: 3.88 last night compared to 3.94. O...

Re: Settings adjustment suggestions for newbie?

Wow! Thank you ALL so very much for taking the time to write such detailed thoughtful replies. It is so appreciated and hearing other people's experiences with the P10 mask really made me feel better to know I'm not the only one. Last night I made a few tweaks, and was able to use the mask for 7+ ho...
