Re: New CPAP user. Any tips from my first night? Oscar image attached

4/13/23 It's great you felt better today! It looks as though your pressure never got close to 9, so capping it there actually didn't have any effect. This is good -- it suggests you'll just naturally be feeling more more and more rested as you continue to get used to PAP therapy. For what it's worth...

Traveling all day yesterday so uploading 4/11 and 4/12. Night of 4/11 Went to bed late and had to be up early to catch a flight so I only got about 6 hours of sleep. I felt somewhat tired throughout the day. Slept about 1.5 hours on the plane. It looked like the machine wanted to go higher than 9 pr...

Looks more like awake/arousal related central flagging but you need a little closer zooming in for better clarity. I don't think you were sound asleep and if you weren't these flagged centrals simply don't count except to point to not being asleep. Even if you were really asleep though when those c...

Re: New CPAP user. Any tips from my first night? Oscar image attached

4/10/23 (night 7) Miss Emerita, I took your advice and set the maximum to 9. I also bumped up the ramp pressure to 4.4. I remember waking up a couple times and wasn't even sure if the machine was on. The pressure felt natural. I turned the humidity down to 3 because this thing just runs through dist...

Did you wake during the night? If so about how many times? Do you take any medications? If so, what? Any other physical or mental health issues going on? I remember waking up a couple times but fell right back asleep. Yes, I take adderall. No other physical/mental health issues. BMI is around 26. 5...

Dzyan, really interesting leak solutions -- thanks for posting them! You might even want to paste that post into a new thread with a title like "leak solutions" so it'll be easier for other people to find it. Ideally the air in your bedroom would be fresh and cool. I wonder whether you'd benefit fr...

Re: New CPAP user. Any tips from my first night? Oscar image attached

Your leaks improved a lot on night 3, then got worse again on night 4. Do you have a sense of why that is? Do you think you were opening your mouth? Or was the mask getting jostled? Night 4 I loosened my mask quite a bit, and then tightened just a tiny bit until I got a seal at therapy level pressu...

Re: New CPAP user. Any tips from my first night? Oscar image attached

4/7/23 (night 4) I got my p10 today and I gotta say it is 1000x more comfortable than the f20. However, I was unable to use it because I had a hard time exhaling. It felt like there was way too much resistance on the exhale. I tried numerous things -- EPR 1,2,3; lower pressure settings; ramp on/off;...

Re: New CPAP user. Any tips from my first night? Oscar image attached

4/6/23 (night 3) Adjustments made: - up pressure range 6-20 > 7-20 - up epr 2 > 3 - up temp 23 > 25 - lower humidity 6 > 5 - lower ramp time 45 > 5 I gave the foam mask another shot and it felt better/less leaky than the silicone. Adjusted it to sit a bit higher, pretty much brow level with the bott...

New CPAP user. Any tips from my first night? Oscar image attached

I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea with an AHI of 28.6 back in October 2022. After 6 long months, I finally received my CPAP machine (Resmed Airsense 11 Autoset) 2 days ago. Night 1 - I was unable to sleep with it because I couldn't get a good seal. My ears also kept popping like I was on an ...

Re: Pressure in ears

I just started CPAP and had this the first night. Felt exactly like when my ears pop on an airplane. Normally I can pop them back by swallowing or opening my mouth up wide like a yawn but neither method worked. I tried with airpods and that didn’t work but maybe ear plugs could be better. Second nig...
