Help recognizing events in Oscar?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me identify these screenshotted events in Oscar and tell me if they are breathing-related arousals (or not). Attached is screenshot of the full night then some of the individual events: https://imgur.com/a/hJsbBqd. Here is a link to the Sleep HQ data: http...

Re: turbinate reduction surgery feedback wanted

I got a submucosal turbinate reduction along with a septoplasty two weeks ago. I was really anxious about the surgery because of the horror stories of ENS, but I could immediately feel a difference in my breathing after the surgery and even though it hasn't made an obvious difference in my sleep so ...

Re: Aircurve 10 VAuto BIPAP Data Interpretation

I decided to increase my IPAP to 18 (with a PS of 6) last night to see if it would help with what I suspect is RERAs that I'm still having. I'm feeling a bit better today, with noticeably less brain fog this morning even though I am still a little sleepy (probably because my circadian rhythm is stil...

Re: Aircurve 10 VAuto BIPAP Data Interpretation

Your FL graph looks great, so no problems there. As leaks go, yours are not at all bad, but even small leaks can disrupt sleep for some people. Do you think yours are from your mouth or from your mask? What strikes me now is that you go to bed late, at quite different times on different nights, and...

Re: Aircurve 10 VAuto BIPAP Data Interpretation

Using the S mode, you don't get data for flow limitations, which might be useful. So try using VPAPAuto instead. Set your minimum EPAP to 12, your maximum IPAP to 17, and your PS to 5. You'll get the same pressures as you do with your current settings in S mode. We'd need to see a closer zoom -- ma...

Aircurve 10 VAuto BIPAP Data Interpretation

Hello all, I'm in the process of trying to tweak my settings after switching from the Dreamstation Auto BIPAP to an AirCurve 10 VAuto. I have been using the BIPAP consistently, every night, for a year now. While I feel better than I did before using it, I still have residual daytime sleepiness. I ne...

Re: Newbie, waking up frequently with BIPAP

I'm posting again to this thread in hopes someone might be able to explain my pressure graph to me and help me continue to tweak my BIPAP settings. I've still been experiencing what looks like residual hyponeas and RERAs that my PR machine is not flagging (and experiencing daytime sleepiness/brain f...

Re: Newbie, waking up frequently with BIPAP

Hi everyone, I wanted to provide an update on my sleep and see if anyone has any input. Although I feel better than before using the BIPAP, I still find that I don't feel totally rested when I wake up and am struggling a bit with sleepiness during the day. I'm wondering if there is any issue with my...

Re: Newbie, waking up frequently with BIPAP

I have recently noticed that I am still feeling tired during the day and even though I'm feeling relatively better (as compared to before BIPAP) it seems like my sleep quality may still be lacking. I have been waking up more the past week and I'm wondering if I should be concerned about leaks again....

Re: Newbie, waking up frequently with BIPAP

Update: I have had good luck with the Resmed AirFit P10 medium nasal pillows. I didn't think it would work for me since I am mainly a stomach sleeper, but I have been able to sleep through the night most nights now without leaks waking me up! I am also feeling much better symptom wise. Thank you to ...

Re: Newbie, waking up frequently with BIPAP

Thank you robysue1 and ozij! This is the data from the night I used the nasal pillows: https://imgur.com/a/mkcKyIh But of course, this is the bad news. Is the sore an open sore or just a sore spot? You could try putting some Lanisoh on a sore spot, but I'm not sure I'd try it on an open sore/wound. ...

Re: Newbie, waking up frequently with BIPAP

Update: After trying to set the Dreamwisp mask (size medium) on my face before sleeping, I discovered that it's almost impossible to put it on my face at full pressure without having leaks. I decided to use the small Dreamwisp mask instead and my awakenings/leaking seemed to be significantly reduced...

Re: Newbie, waking up frequently with BIPAP

Thank you for your in depth response robysue1! To help you get started on this process: What's your favorite sleeping position? How do you fit the mask at the beginning of the night? And have you spent time far away from bedtime trying to troubleshoot how you are fitting the mask? To answer these qu...

Re: Newbie, waking up frequently with BIPAP

Are you waking up with a dry mouth? Could you be mouth leaking? Thank you ozij and robysue1, it would make sense that my awakenings are being accompanied by higher leaks as the other posters have also noted. Last night I took note of if my mask was leaking when I woke up during the night, and it di...
